The Chicago Bears are favored at home in Internet betting as they host the Seattle Seahawks. Chicago is getting starting quarterback Jay Cutler back this week and that is good news for their offense. The Bears won and covered last week against the Carolina Panthers but backup quarterback Todd Collins was awful.
Bears go for Win #5 – The Bears have four wins this season and that is tied with the Jets, Ravens and Falcons for the most in the league. Now that Cutler is back the Bears should get some action from gamblers this week.
Chicago QB Rotation – The Bears have their starter back in Cutler and they are also making another change as Caleb Hanie will be the backup with Collins going to third string. Collins really should be headed to the street after last week. He threw four interceptions and finished with a passer rating of 6.2. It is almost impossible to play any worse than he did last week but the Bears still beat the Panthers and they did so easily. The Bears could just release Collins but it would cost them a million dollars since Collins was smart enough to get a million guaranteed. Maybe he knew he wasn’t any good and wanted guaranteed money in case he was cut.
Bears Favored vs. Seahawks – Chicago is at home and they play another offensively challenged team this week in Seattle. Last week the Bears got to play a rotten Carolina offense and this week they get the Seahawks. It sounds like another win for the Bears against the NFL odds at Sbgglobal. Seattle is somehow 2-2 on the season but their offense is terrible. Matt Hasselbeck is no longer a quality NFL quarterback and the Seahawks don’t have much around him. They did trade for Marshawn Lynch so perhaps he will upgrade what was a putrid running attack.
Seattle is a bad Road Team – The Seahawks are not a team you want to bet when they are on the road. They are 16-34-1 against the point spread in their last 51 road games. The problem for gamblers who like Chicago is that the Bears are only 2-5 against the spread in their last 7 home games. When the Seahawks and the Bears play it is usually high scoring though with the last four meetings going over the Internet betting total.
