Bookmaker Notes Bundesliga Openers Next Month

March 2nd, 2022 Online Offshore Bookmaker

Bundesliga odds at the bookmaker will be on the board next month. Champion Bayern Munich hosts Wolfsburg in the season opener on August 20th. It will be a tough opening match for English coach Steve McClaren and his Wolfsburg squad.  Bayern will be favored at the online bookmaker as they look to defend their title.

Bookmaker odds on last year’s second place finisher Schalke could be interesting as they start on the road at Hamburg.  The start of the Bundesliga season is on August 20th but there will be an interesting match that takes place just about two weeks earlier as Bayern and Schalke meet in the Super Cup on August 7th.  Normally it is the Bundesliga champ against the DFB-Pokal winner but since Bayern turned the double last season, the second place team, Schalke will get to play this year.

Bayern has an exciting start to the season as they host McClaren’s new squad. Last year, McClaren led FC Twente to the Eredivisie title but he has moved on to Wolfsburg.  Also on the opening weekend of action in Bundesliga odds at the online bookmaker it will be last year’s third place team, Werder Bremen visiting Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund taking on Bayer Leverkusen, Mainz hosting Stuttgart and Hannover facing Eintracht Frankfurt and Nurnberg at Borussia. Also on the slate it is newcomers Kaiserslautern going to Cologne and St Pauli at Freiburg. Bayern and Schalke play in the Super Cup but the main focus will be on their league matches. They face each other on December 3 in Gelsenkirchen with the return on April 29.

The Bundesliga is likely to get more attention from bettors at the bookmaker this season because of Germany’s success in the World Cup.  There were more players from the Bundesliga in the World Cup quarterfinals than any other league.  The Bundesliga had 37 players in the quarterfinals while Spain’s Primera Division had 32.  Italy’s Serie A had 25 while the Premier League had just 18 players left.

Players are now considering the Bundesliga as a top league. Schalke is trying to get Real Madrid striker Raul for this season. Schalke really needs to sign Raul since they lost Kevin Kuranyi, Gerald Asamoah and Vicente Sanchez this summer. Raul has scored 323 goals in 741 games.
