Nashville Predators vs. Dallas Stars - 2020 Bridgestone Winter Classic

It has been strange season already for the Dallas Stars.  Initially head coach Jim Montgomery had Dallas rolling as one of the top teams in the Western Conference.  Dallas had become one of the top NHL betting favorites with gamblers.  However, all of that changed when Montgomery was fired for personal conduct issues.  Top Dallas assistant Rick Bowness had a lead contending playoff team fall into his lap.  Now the question is if Bowness is up to the task.  Meanwhile Nashville has been struggling to stay within reach of a wild card playoff spot.

2020 Winter Classic Overview

At the beginning the 2008 Winter Classic at Buffalo between the Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins drew a lot of curiosity.   The game itself was an instant classic as Pittsburgh won in a shootout in the snow in front of nearly 80,000 fans.  Since that time the Winter Classic has often outdrawn college football bowl games for TV ratings.   Consider such iconic Venus as Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, Heinz Field, and Busch Stadium as hosts.   This year the famed Cotton Bowl Stadium is the site for the Winter Classic.  Dallas has come a long way as a great hockey market.
