Wednesday NHL Wagering Online – Blues at Red Wings

Two top teams from the Central Division meet in Wednesday NHL wagering online as the Detroit Red Wings host the St. Louis Blues. The Blues started the season very strongly but they have hit a speed bump while the Red Wings have been rolling along.  Detroit is the favorite on Wednesday night and should get most of the action from gamblers making an NHL bet at SBG.

Blues Losing Streak
Remember when the Blues were leading the league and had just one loss?  That is history as St. Louis is on a four-game losing streak.  It started with a bad loss to Columbus as they were blown out 8-1 and it has not gotten any better recently.  They lost in a shootout to Nashville and then went on the road and lost 5-3 at Phoenix and 6-3 at Colorado.  This game on Wednesday is the final game of the three-game trip. Winning at Detroit will not be easy, especially since the Red Wings are playing as well as any team in the league.

Detroit 6-1 in Last Seven
The Red Wings are playing excellent hockey. They have won six of their last seven games and they do not look to have a weakness right now.  They have been led by 40-year old Nicklas Lidstrom who is the oldest defensemen in the league.  He is playing at a very high level and looks like an All-Star again.  He has a career-best 11-game point scoring streak heading into Wednesday’s game. Lidstrom is tied for the NHL’s scoring lead among defensemen with 17 points and tied for second among all players with 15 assists. He won the Norris Trophy two years ago at 38 years old which set a record for the oldest player to ever win the award. He has won the trophy six times and could win it again this season. He is a future Hall of Famer and a wonder at 40-years old.
