Canadian Football Team Listings

CFL odds for the 2009 season are on the sportsbook board beginning in July with the first week of action and continuing right up until the Grey Cup on Sunday, November 29th.

Canadian Football Betting involves a total of eight teams, four in each division.

CFL odds have each team playing 18 regular season games with four teams in the East Division and four teams in the West Division. The playoffs in the CFL begin on Sunday, November 15th with the semifinals, continue the following week with the division finals and culminate with the Grey Cup on November 29th. The top team in CFL odds at the online sportsbook is the Calgary Stampeders as they are coming off a victory in the 2008 Grey Cup.  The Stampeders reside in the West Division which is considered the far superior division in Canadian Football Betting.  Last season all four teams in the West finished above .500 while only Montreal finished with a winning record in the East.

Canadian Football Betting at the sportsbook is not that different from NFL betting. Sides and totals are available each week for all of the games and the same handicapping can be done with CFL games as with NFL games. You can look at league and team statistics as well as specific against the spread numbers.  The CFL is not followed extensively in the United States but the Internet is a huge resource for handicapping CFL games as each of the teams has their own website and individual newspapers do an excellent job of previewing the games.

The four teams in the West Division in the CFL are the Calgary Stampeders, Saskatchewan Roughriders, British Columbia Lions and Edmonton Eskimos.  The four teams in the East Division are the Montreal Alouettes, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger Cats.
