St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks Game 2

On the whole, game one of the Western Conference Final was a great reminder about the meaning of home ice advantage.  Many times, that phrase proves to be empty.  But last Saturday the San Jose Sharks demonstrated what everyone considers to be the ultimate NHL Betting online advantage.  The St. Louis Blues entered the Shark Tank with plenty of momentum.  They departed as 6-3 losers.  Owing to that result was a dominant San Jose performance fueled by a boisterous home crowd.  In particular the Sharks are one of the few teams that live up to the cliché about home ice.

Series Update

Now this best of seven series will head to St. Louis for games three and four.  If necessary, game five will take place at San Jose.  Game six would be at St. Louis.  And if a seventh and deciding game is needed it will be at the Shark Tank.  Of course, the winner of this series will advance to the Stanley Cup Final.

Binnington Struggles in Game One

St Louis actually outshot the Sharks 31-25 in the first game of this NHL Betting  Series.  Fashion the rough performance in goal by Blues rookie Jordan Binnington.  The Sharks peppered Binnington with 24 shots and beat him five times.  It was a far cry for Binnington’s strong performance in the Blues game seven win over Dallas last week.  Meanwhile Martin Jones stopped 28 out of 31 shots thrown his way for the Sharks.  Extending San Jose’s success was Gustav Nyquist with two goals and two assists.  Timo Meier and Logan Couture added a goal and three assists each.

St. Louis vs. San Jose Betting Trends

Despite the poor performance in game one the Blues have been a good betting value on the road.  St. Louis has won six of their last nine games on enemy ice.  Only one of their last six away matches have gone under the total.  Counter to that is the strong wagering value shown by the Sharks at SAP Center.  San Jose has won nine of their last 12 games on home ice.  Over the total has paid 11 of their 13 tilts at the Shark Tank.

Blues and Sharks Head to Head vs. Spread at Shark Tank

Late on San Jose has won four consecutive sportsbook home games against the Blues.  Only one of the last six meetings in this series at SAP Center have gone over the total.

Matchup to Watch

As was previously noted the Shark Tank proved to be a considerable NHL Betting online edge.  Accordingly, the question now is if Blues rookie netminder Jordan Binnington can recover after his worst playoff performance of the spring.  San Jose netminder Martin Jones has emerged as a reliable asset after a terrible start in the playoffs against Vegas.
