Nashville Predators Face NHL Betting Odds Upset Death to Dallas Stars

Nashville Predators vs. Dallas Stars Game 6

At the beginning of the NHL betting online playoff series between Dallas and Nashville there was not much argument about the favorite.  While both teams have strong goaltending and defenses the Predators had more scoring.  During the regular season top forwards Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin were called out by management for lack of production.  The Stars were among the lowest scoring teams in the NHL.  However, they did have a respectable power play.  And that has proven to be the difference in this series.  Nashville’s power play was a team weakness all year.  Concurrently it’s a catastrophe.

Stats to Consider

So far in the Stanley Cup Playoffs Nashville is 0-11 for the power play and ranks dead last in that category.  On the contrary Dallas is 4-21 with the man advantage.  The fact that the Stars have 10 more power plays than the Preds is indicative of their tighter play.  Now Dallas leads this best of seven series 3-2 following a 5-3 NHL Betting online payout at Nashville on Saturday.  It was the second consecutive five-goal game by Dallas as they posted a 5-1 win in game four.  The Stars can clinch this series with a game six win.

Dallas on the Ice

Alexander Radulov has emerged as a top contributor for Dallas in this series.  Radulov owns a team best four goals in this series.  Meanwhile Benn and Seguin have also shown well.  Benn has a goal with five assists and a plus two.  Seguin has two goals with three assists and a plus four.  Also adding to the cause has been defenseman John Klingberg with five assists and a plus five.  Most important of all has been the strong play of goaltender Ben Bishop with a .935 save percentage.

Predators on the Ice

By contrast the Predators are again being let down by goaltender Pekka Rinne.  So far in the series Rinne has a .883 save percentage with a 3.55 goals against average.  One year ago, Rinne fell apart in a game seven home loss to Winnipeg.  It was expected that he would rebound from that sportsbook debacle this spring.  Yet once again Rinne is faltering.  Likewise, defenseman PK Subban has failed to live up to marquee billing with a minus two in this series.  Of great concern is his decline in production since last year.

Team vs. Team

These teams split games three and four in Dallas.  Despite their precarious position in this series Nashville has had success at American Airlines Center.  In fact, the Predators have won five of their seven visits to Dallas.  Only one of the last 11 in this series at Big D have stayed under the total.

Matchup to Watch

On this occasion the pressure is on the Predators full blast.  But Subban and Rinne have shown no signs of producing NHL Betting online success.  Dallas will have a crowd ready to blow the roof off the building.
