The Philadelphia Flyers were able to get past the Buffalo Sabres and win their series in hockey betting. It took seven games but the Flyers proved in Game 7 they were the better team as they won 5-2 to take out the Sabres in NHL hockey betting.
Flyers Moving On
The Flyers finally got a goaltender to start and finish a game as Brian Boucher won Game 7 for Philadelphia. He made 26 saves and the Flyers got him some early offense as they won 5-2 in NHL hockey betting over the Sabres. Now it will be Boucher who gets a chance in the next round as the Flyers continue on their quest to win their first Stanley Cup since 1975. Boucher was the winning goalie in Game 2 and in Game 6 but both of those victories came in relief. In Game 7 he was the starter right from the beginning. The Flyers improved their all-time record to 9-6 in Game 7’s. The Sabres are now 1-6 in Game 7’s in their history including 0-5 on the road.
Sabres Never In Game 7
The Sabres really never were in Game 7. Goaltender Ryan Miller didn’t even finish the game as he was pulled with the Flyers leading 4-0. There was no drama at all in this Game 7 as the Flyers got goals from Braydon Coburn, Danny Briere, James van Riemsdyk and Ville Leino to take away all doubt as to who was going to win on Tuesday. The Flyers had to win the last two games in this series to beat Buffalo and in Game 7 it was pretty easy. The Sabres were without Tim Connolly, Jason Pominville and Patrick Kaleta who were all out for Game 7 and although Derek Roy returned he was nowhere near ready to play.
Boucher Now the Man
If the Flyers are to go further in the Stanley Cup playoffs it will likely be with Boucher in goal. The Flyers tried Sergei Bobrovsky in Games 1 and 2 and they tried Michael Leighton in Game 6. It is now clear that it is Boucher’s job with Bobrovsky the backup. The Flyers will have to wait for their opponent as it could be Boston, Pittsburgh or Tampa Bay. The Flyers wouldn’t be much of a favorite in hockey betting at SBG against any of those three teams although they would have home ice advantage.
