You Can Bet Week One NFL Lines Right Now

You don’t have to wait until September to bet regular season NFL action for the 2009 season. The NFL betting lines are up right now with action beginning on Thursday, September 10th as Tennessee visits Pittsburgh.  The defending Super Bowl champion Steelers are 4.5 point favorites with a total of 35.5.

After the opener on Thursday, which is televised on NBC, there are a total of 13 games on Sunday including some excellent matchups.  The game with the lowest pointspread has Philadelphia visiting Carolina with the Panthers a one point favorite and a total of 44.5.  Four day games have a field goal point spread in NFL odds.  Cincinnati is a three point favorite at home against Denver with a total of 44.5, Minnesota is a three point favorite at Cleveland with a total of 39.5, and Dallas is a three point favorite at Tampa Bay with a total of 42.

The biggest favorite in Week 1 NFL lines betting odds at the sportsbook is the New Orleans Saints who are laying 11.5 points at home against the Detroit Lions with a total of 48.5.  Not too far behind the Saints in terms of laying points in NFL odds at the sports book are the Baltimore Ravens.  They are 8.5 point home favorites against the Kansas City Chiefs with a total of 37.5.

Other games on Sunday have the Seattle Seahawks laying 7 points at home to the St. Louis Rams with a total of 43, Indianapolis is a 6.5 point favorite at home against Jacksonville with a total of 44.5, Arizona is a 6.5 point home favorite against San Francisco with a total of 47, Atlanta is a four point favorite at home against Miami with a total of 43, Houston is laying four points at home against the New York Jets with a total of 43.5, and the New York Giants are laying six points at home against Washington with a total of 39.5.  The Sunday night game on NBC has Green Bay laying a field goal at home against the Chicago Bears with a total of 43.5.

The opening week of the regular season features an ESPN doubleheader on Monday night.  The return of Tom Brady is highlighted in the opening game as the New England Patriots host Terrell Owens and the Buffalo Bills.  The Patriots are a 10 point home favorite at the sportsbook with a total of 46.5.  The late game on ESPN has Oakland hosting San Diego.  The Chargers are 6.5 point road favorites with a total of 44 at the sports book.
