Week 1 of NFL preseason odds feature a lot of low totals as the odds makers don’t expect many high scoring games. NFL preseason betting begins on Sunday with the Hall of Fame Game between Dallas and Cincinnati and that total is 32.5.

The first week has some of the lowest totals because playing time is very limited for starters. The highest total in Week 1 is on Thursday, August 12th as the New Orleans Saints face the New England Patriots. That total is listed at 36. It is far and away the highest total in Week 1. No other total is higher than 34.5.
The other total in Thursday’s action is 34 as the Carolina Panthers face the Baltimore Ravens. There is not a line yet on the game between Oakland and Dallas for Thursday since the Cowboys play in the Hall of Fame Game. Friday’s games on August 13th have some low numbers. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles game has a total of 33.5 while the Buffalo Bills game vs. the Washington Redskins has a total of 32.5. The other game on Friday has Kansas City in Atlanta and the total on that contest is 34.5.
Saturday’s action on August 14th features the lowest total in Week 1 NFL preseason odds. The Minnesota Vikings are at the St. Louis Rams and the total on that game is 31.5. That number was made before the news about Brett Favre retiring came out and would not have been different since Favre wasn’t expected to be in the game anyway. Also on Saturday it is Tampa Bay in Miami to face the Dolphins with the total on that game at 33.5. Detroit is at Pittsburgh and that total is also 33.5. The same total of 33.5 is on the game between Houston and Arizona. The game between Cleveland and Green Bay has a total of 34.5. Chicago is at San Diego with a total of 34 and that is also the total on the game between Tennessee and Seattle. Sunday’s game between San Francisco and Indianapolis has a total of 34.5 while there is no line yet for the game between the Broncos and Bengals. The Monday night game on August 16th between the Jets and Giants has a total of 32.5 in NFL preseason betting.
