Week 6 Preview for Teams with 3-1 Records

It’s Week 6 of the NFL regular season, so let’s preview the teams with 3 wins and 1 loss, as there are no undefeated teams left in the NFL for 2014. The teams are the Bengals, Broncos, Cardinals and Seahawks, with Seattle previewed in a previous article.

The first 3-1 team in NFL Week 6 is the Cincinnati Bengals (1st in AFC North) who will play the Carolina Panthers 3-2 (1st in NFC South) with the game at the Bengals Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio with game time 1 PM ET on Fox TV, as both teams seek victory this Sunday, Oct.12th 2014.

First odds had the Bengals registered as favorites at 8 ½ points against the Panthers with the total 44 ½. The Bengals in their last game were one of the two remaining undefeated teams who were defeated last weekend as they lost in a road game 43-17 to the always feisty New England Patriots 3-2 (1st AFC East) and the Bengals did not cover their favorite -2.5 points spread and the total 60 was a winner for those that took the over.

The Carolina Panthers on the other hand were winners at home playing the Chicago Bears 2-3 (3rd NFC North) 31-24 and the Panthers did cover their favorite -1.5 point spread and the game total of 55 was winner for those that bet the over.

The team leaders for the Panthers are QB Newton who to date has completed 79 of 129 passes for 983 yards and 5 touchdowns, while RB Williams has had 25 carries for 106 yards, and Receiver Benjamin has 24 receptions for 367 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Bengals leaders are QB Dalton who has completed to date 70 of 108 passes for 926 yards and 4 touchdowns. RB Bernard has 68 carries to date for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Receiver Green has 17 receptions for 314 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Panthers team record is 3-2 SU (Straight Up), 3-2 (Against the Spread) and in last 18 games are 14-4 SU, while in the last 11 of 15 games the total has been under. Carolina in their last 5 road games are 1-4 ATS and in last 8 road games they are 6-2 SU.

The Cincinnati team record is 3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS, and in last 11 games 8-3 ATS, and 8-3 SU in those same 11 games. In 4 of their last 5 games the total has went under, and in last 12 home games the Bengals are 11-1 ATS.


The second 3-1 team playing this week 6 in NFL is the Denver Broncos (2nd AFC West) who travel to New York to play the New York Jets 1-4 (4th AFC East) with both seeking victory on Sunday the 12th of October with the game played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey with game time at 1 PM ET on CBS TV.

Prsent odds have the Broncos favorites at -8 points against the Jets with the total being 47 ½ and the ML -420 for the Broncos and +335 for the Jets. Denver in their last game which was at home, as the beat the undefeated at the time, Arizona Cardinals 3-1 (1st NFC West) 41-20 and Denver covered their favorite -8 point spread and the total score of 61 was a winner for those that took the over. The Jets on their last away game lost to the San Diego Chargers 31-0 and they did not cover their underdog spread of +7 and the game total of 31 was a winner for those that took the under.

The team leaders for the Broncos are QB Manning who to date has completed 105 of 258 passes for a total of 1,293 yards and 12 touchdowns, while RB Ball has 55 carries to date for 172 yards and 1 TD. Receiver Sanders to date has 32 receptions for 435 yards and no touchdowns.

The Denver team record is 3-1 SU (Straight Up), 1-3 ATS (Against the Spread), while they are 1-4 ATS in 5 latest games, and in last 23 games 1-5 SU. In the Broncos last 10 games the total has went under, while in the 6 latest road games they are 4-2 ATS.

The Jets team leaders are QB Smith who to date has completed 86 of 148 passes for 949 yards and 4 touchdowns. RB Ivory has 59 carries for 318 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Receiver Decker has some 14 receptions for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The third 3-1 team playing this week 6 in NFL, is the Arizona Cardinals (1st NFC West) playing the Washington Redskins 1-4 (4th NFC East) with the game to be played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale Arizona with game time 4:25 PM ET on Fox TV.

The Cardinals as reported earlier in this article lost their undefeated status as they lost to the Broncos last Sunday 41-20. The Cardinal didn’t cover their underdog +8 point spread in the game, and the total 61 was a winner for those that picked the over.

Last week the Washington Redskins lost at home to the Seattle Seahawks 21-17, in a game that was closer in competition, than the score, as Seattle QB Russell and his running abilities was able to keep the Seahawks in the lead and victorious. The Redskins as expected were +7 point underdogs and they didn’t cover that spread and the total 44 was a winner for the under bettors.

The Cardinals team leaders are QB Stanton, who to date has completed 95 of 150 passes for 1,217 yards and 2 touchdowns, while RB Ellington has 62 carries for 238 yards and 1 TD. Receiver Floyd to date has 12 receptions for 259 yards and no touchdowns.

The Cardinals team record is 3-1 SU (Straight Up), 2-2 ATS (Against the Spread) and in their last 13 games are 10-3 SU. In 4 or the last 6 Cardinals games the total has went under. In their latest 7 home games they are 6-1 Su and when they play against the Redskins in DC they are 0-5 SU.
