Washington Redskins 2010 NFL Preseason Betting

2010 NFL preseason betting on the Washington Redskins begins on August 13th as the team hosts the Buffalo Bills. The Redskins have a new head coach and a new quarterback and they are likely to be favored in NFL preseason lines against the Bills.

2010 NFL preseason betting odds list the Redskins as 21-1 long shots to win the Super Bowl.  Washington plays in the NFC East which is a tough division but the Redskins are given a chance as they are listed with odds of 4.5 to 1.  Dallas is favored to win the division while the Giants are the second choice and the Eagles a close third.

Washington has four preseason games, two at home and two on the road.  They open against the Bills on August 13th and then host Baltimore in Week 2. They finish up at the New York Jets and at Arizona.  The Redskins not only added Donovan McNabb to take over as their starting quarterback, they also added Larry Johnson and Willie Parker to give Clinton Portis some help.  The Redskins will be coached by Mike Shanahan who knows how to win.

The Redskins were a bust last season but they could be vastly improved this season in regular season lines and in NFL preseason lines with McNabb under center. The Redskins have some talent and it is not that far fetched to see them winning the NFC East this season.  Clinton Portis still has the ability to be a Pro Bowl running back and Chris Cooley is a great tight end.  If Washington can get good play out of their offensive line they can be a dangerous offense.

The defense has some question marks including Albert Haynesworth in the middle. Washington is paying Haynesworth way too much money and he may not even show up to play.  The team is hoping that Adam Carriker can take over one of the starting defensive end positions.

The Redskins get national attention right off the bat during the regular season as they open up on Sunday night on NBC against the Dallas Cowboys. It will be a huge test to see just how good the Redskins are with their improved roster. The Redskins are 3.5 point underdogs in their home opener against Dallas.
