NFL Betting – Washington at Dallas

NFL betting should be popular on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday as they host the Washington Redskins. The Cowboys proved again last week though that just because they are a popular team doesn’t mean they always win versus the football betting number. Here is a look at this NFC East rivalry game between Washington and Dallas.

NFL betting had the Redskins showing up last week and surprising the Denver Broncos while the Cowboys laid an egg at Green Bay. Tony Romo was sacked five times last week against Green Bay and the Cowboys proved again that they are not an elite team in NFL betting.

Washington found a way last week to end their losing streak as they defeated the Denver Broncos in NFL betting. Ladell Betts filled in for the injured Clinton Portis and had a TD and more than 100 yards rushing. Quarterback Jason Campbell was 17 of 26 passes for 193 yards. “We’ve had a desert experience — very arid, if you will — for the last few weeks,” head coach Jim Zorn said, “so to be able to come out with a win, you almost don’t know how to feel.”

The Redskins and Cowboys have split their last five NFL betting meetings. The Redskins have covered six of those ten. This is the first of two meetings between the two teams this season. Last year each team won on the road. The Cowboys won 14-10 at Washington in NFL betting while the Redskins shocked the Cowboys in Dallas as 11-point football betting underdogs. Dallas has won three of the last five home meetings against Washington but the Redskins are 3-2 against the football betting odds in those games.

The Cowboys are the deserving favorite but as last week proved, they can’t always be trusted. Last week also showed that Washington is capable of winning games and covering the football betting spread. The Redskins had not been competitive in their previous three matchups but turned things around nicely in the win over Denver.

One area that Washington excels at is pass defense so Romo could find the going tough. The Redskins have been ranked in the Top 5 in the NFL betting league against the pass and at times have been ranked #1. The Cowboys may have to run the ball with Marion Barber and Felix Jones to win this game on Sunday.
