Wade Phillips to Return as Cowboys Coach NFL Betting Odds

NFL betting odds had the Dallas Cowboys getting routed this past Sunday by the Dallas Cowboys 34-3 but owner Jerry Jones has decided to bring back head coach Wade Phillips. Some that look at NFL lines were thinking that Phillips would be fired after the Cowboys failed to reach the Super Bowl but that is not the case.

NFL betting odds had Phillips with one year (team option) remaining on this contract.  The Cowboys have not extended Phillips but just bringing him back is a surprise to many who wager on NFL betting odds. Phillips definitely has the support of his players though. “His record speaks for itself,” quarterback Tony Romo said, “He’s done a great job, kept the team together through a lot of tough times this year. He’s done a fantastic job as coach of the Cowboys.”

Dallas won in NFL betting odds in the Wild Card round as they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles. That NFL lines victory ended a 13-year streak of Dallas not winning a playoff game and it looks like that win saved the job of Phillips. “It just wouldn’t make any sense to let him go right now, with just the way that we played, the way that we ended the season,” linebacker Bradie James “I don’t think that’s broken.”

Dallas is 33-15 the last two NFL lines seasons with Phillips as coach. They have won the NFC East in two of the last three NFL betting odds years. This season the defense was excellent under Phillips until the meltdown against Minnesota in NFL betting odds. “I think it’s always important to continue to have the same system in place,” Romo said. “For players, it goes a long way to continue to build and continue to improve, because the system is a big part of it.”

NFL lines had the players in support of Phillips even though he really has not done anything in the playoffs.  “He does a great job of coaching. You’ve seen the strides this team has taken from the beginning of this season to the end.” safety Gerald Sensabaugh said, “He’s a great coach. It’s good to play for a guy like Wade.”

There is no question that Phillips is an excellent defensive coordinator but his skills as a head coach are still questionable but he is going to get another chance with Dallas in NFL betting odds.
