Vince Young to Start for Titans NFL Betting Lines

NFL betting lines may not be affected much but the Tennessee Titans will be starting Vince Young at quarterback this week as they host the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Football odds have the Titans favored by a field goal at home against the Jaguars. NFL betting lines favor Tennessee in this game even though they are winless on the season.  The Titans will be going with Young at quarterback since head coach Jeff Fisher was basically told to start him.  Kerry Collins has not played well this season but Fisher would have preferred to stick with Collins in this game. Young has had some success in his NFL career. He is 18-11 as a starter. His passing numbers though are very poor as the NFL betting lines statistics indicate. He has thrown 21 TDs but has 31 interceptions. His strength is rushing the ball as he has 10 rushing TDs in his career as football odds numbers indicated.

Earlier this week it was reported that Tennessee owner Bud Adams basically said to Fisher that he wanted Young to start.  The Titans have not played well this NFL betting lines season but Collins is not the entire problem.  They have not scored an offensive touchdown in their last eight quarters of NFL betting lines action so perhaps a change was needed.

Young was the starter in 2006 NFL betting lines after he replaced Collins.  He won Offensive Rookie of the Year honors that season as the Titans finished 8-8. He did not play as well in 2007 in NFL betting lines as threw 9 TDs but 17 interceptions. He lost his starting job last season in the team’s opener when he injured his knee. Collins was superb, going 12-3 as the starter in their NFL betting lines games.  The Titans did lose though in the playoffs and this season has been a disaster versus the football odds.

The Titans are 0-6 straight up and 1-5 against the NFL betting lines.  They have only played two home games and are 0-2 both straight up and against the football odds in those games.  Their offense has been bad, ranking 22nd in the league in total yards and 27th in points scored as NFL betting lines stats show. The defense has been worse in NFL betting lines, ranking 31st in the league in total yards and dead last in points allowed.
