Vick Eligibility Begins in Week 3 NFL Betting Lines

NFL betting lines on the Philadelphia Eagles have been mediocre. Soon that will change, as they will be able to use quarterback Michael Vick in Week 3. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell made his decision on Vick’s reinstatement on Thursday and now the Eagles can make appropriate plans. Pro football odds are unlikely to be influenced by Vick’s addition unless the Eagles suffer some injuries.

NFL betting lines at the sportsbook will have the Eagles favored in that Week 3 matchup as they host the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles could put Vick to use in some sort of Wildcat offense near the goal line and they could even use him as McNabb’s primary pro football odds backup although that role currently his held by Kevin Kolb. Vick was happy with the decision. “I’ve been doing everything I could, just trying to do all the right things and make sure I just stay on course,” Vick said. “I’m happy with the decision.”

NFL betting lines tell us that the Eagles lost to the Jets 38-27 on Thursday night as Vick ran for a 2-yard touchdown but lost a fumble, threw an interception and was sacked four times. What some that look at NFL betting lines forget is that Vick was not that great a quarterback with Atlanta when he did play. Vick’s skills are far better as a runner and that is where the Eagles may eventually use him to impact NFL betting lines. His career completion percentage is only 53.8 percent as pro football odds show. He has 71 career touchdown passes in NFL betting lines, but 52 interceptions.

NFL betting lines tell us that Vick was a three-time Pro Bowl pick in six years with the Falcons but his passing numbers were never very good. He signed his deal with the Eagles on Aug. 13th and now he could see playing time in Week 3 of NFL betting lines. “As far as Michael’s situation goes,” head coach Andy Reid said, “the two-game suspension by the commissioner, we obviously respect his decision 100 percent and support it.”

NFL betting lines indicate that Reid has said that Kolb will remain McNabb’s backup for now and that Vick will be used in the wildcat offense.

The Eagles are one-point favorites in NFL betting lines in their regular season opening game at Carolina. The Eagles are considered one of the Super Bowl contenders in NFL betting lines. They are 6.5 to 1 in online sports betting pro football odds.
