Dallas Cowboys

Namely Dallas is riding a two-game winning streak both straight up and with the board.  The Cowboys are now 6-4 straight up and 7-3 against the spread with six games going under.  At the onset of the season offensive woes have plagued Dallas.  They now rank 27th overall in the NFL and 25th for scoring.  Most important of all is a defense ranked third in the league for points allowed.  Hence that stop unit has saved the season. Dallas lost at Washington 20-17 on October 21.

Washington Redskins

NFC East leading Washington is 6-4 straight up, 7-3 vs. the odds and 4-6 under.  Extending their profitability is five payouts in their last six games.  Last week the Redskins lost at home to Houston 21-23.  Additionally, the Redskins have a similar look to the Cowboys.  For example, Washington ranks 27th in the NFL for scoring offense but fifth for points allowed.  Of major concern is the season ending injury to quarterback Alex Smith.  In like manner the offense was already lukewarm.  Without Smith it may be non-existent.

Stats to Consider

Washington has been a very strong betting on NFL value as a road dog.  Consider the fact that the Redskins have paid in 12 of their last 16 in that role.  Four of their last six as away pups have gone under the total.  Balanced against that is the poor value provided by Dallas as a home chalk.  The Cowboys have covered just four of their last 12 laying points at AT&T Stadium.  And three of their last five as home favorites have gone under the total.

Team vs. Team

Dallas has had the online wagering advantage in their rivalry series with Washington.  In fact, the Cowboys got the money in five of their last eight against the Redskins.  Five of the last six between these teams have gone over the total.  However, the Redskins have been a reliable bet in road games against Dallas.  For example, Washington has paid in nine of their last 11 trips to Big D.  And the last three matchups in this series at AT&T Stadium cleared the total.

Matchup to Watch

Washington has a major Betting on NFL matchup disadvantage without Smith.  Supplementing that is the Cowboys improved play and tough defense.  However, all of that will mean the public is all over Dallas.  In spite of their problems the Redskins have a defense that can keep them within the number.
