Superbowl Odds Moving Towards Indianapolis

Superbowl odds opened up as low as 3.5 or 4 points on the Indianapolis Colts and have risen up to 5.5. The Colts are getting much of the early action in Super Bowl betting.  The total in Superbowl odds for Super Bowl XLIV is 56. Superbowl odds has seen most of the early money go on the Colts. It will be interesting to see if any of the late money comes in on the New Orleans Saints.  The number that seems to be attracting some Saints action is six so the Super bowl odds may end up settling on 5.5. The total opened at 56, went to 55.5 for a while and then back up to 56.  Many who wager on Superbowl odds predict that the number will rise to 56.5 or maybe even 57.

This total in Superbowl odds is the highest in Super Bowl history. The previous highest number in Super Bowl betting was two years ago when the Giants upset the Patriots 17-14. The total in Super Bowl betting for that contest was 55 and the game easily went under. This year’s game has a higher total since the Saints come into the game with the #1 offense in the NFL while the Colts have Peyton Manning and an explosive offense.  The Colts were second in passing offense and seventh in scoring this season. It should be noted though that four of the past five Super Bowls have gone under the total.

This could be one of the best Super Bowls in terms of money wagered on the game.  The matchup has the two best teams in the NFL and a lot of great story lines. It also features two great offensive teams and that always means action in Superbowl odds.  Many will look to take the Colts and over but the Saints have proven they can score a lot of points and they will start to attract attention as the game gets closer.  Since the under in the Super Bowl has some value there is no doubt that some people will wait until the last minute and take the game under.  There will definitely be value on the under in this contest since the Super Bowl betting total is so high.  There may also be some value with the Saints although most people don’t believe the New Orleans defense can slow down Manning and the Colts offense.
