Super Bowl Odds & the Arizona Cardinals at SBG Global

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

Super Bowl odds have the Arizona Cardinals playing in their first ever Super Bowl.

The Cardinals are seven point underdogs to Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLIII. While it is true that Arizona doesn’t have a Super Bowl betting history, they do have an NFL history that goes back to the beginning of the NFL.

Super Bowl odds have not always been bad for the Cardinals. The Cardinals are one of the original 11 NFL teams. The Racine Cardinals were part of the first NFL league in 1920. They moved to Chicago in 1922 and in 1925 they were the NFL Champions. However, the Cardinals didn’t always succeed in the early years of the NFL. They went 0-10 in 1943. They actually combined with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1944 and also went 0-10. In 1947 the Cardinals won their second Super Bowl odds, back then called the NFL championship. That was the last time they ever won the NFL title. The next season they lost the title to Philadelphia as Super Bowl odds history tells us.

The Cardinals moved to St. Louis in 1960. In 1974 the Cardinals went 10-4 and made the playoffs for the first time since 1948. They made the playoffs again the next year but lost their first game. Super Bowl betting history tells us that the Cardinals played their last game in St. Louis in 1987 and then moved to Arizona. They had losing seasons in Super Bowl odds every year until 1994 when they went 8-8. They made the playoffs in 1998 as previous Super Bowl odds show, but lost again.

This season the Cardinals not only made the playoffs after missing out for the last 10 years, but they also won three games to make the Super Bowl for the first time in Super Bowl odds history.

Super Bowl odds have the Arizona Cardinals as underdogs against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII. The Cardinals definitely don’t have the history of the Steelers but Super Bowl betting in the past has demonstrated that anything can happen in the race to the most coveted trophy in the NFL. Last year the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots in the third biggest upset in Super Bowl odds since the Jets beat the Colts in Super Bowl III. Will the Cardinals pull off another huge upset in this year’s Super Bowl odds? Super Bowl odds have proved that anything is possible when it comes to Super Bowl betting.
