Steelers and Packers Banged Up NFL Betting Odds

NFL betting odds could start to be adjusted on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers. The Steelers starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was injured on Sunday while the Packers lost two defensive starters.  Green Bay has a short week as they face Detroit in NFL lines on Thursday.

NFL betting odds favor Green Bay at Detroit but the Packers are hurt. The Packers lost cornerback Al Harris and linebacker Aaron Kampman for the season in their NFL lines win over San Francisco.  Both will have season-ending knee surgery. Their losses will impact NFL betting odds since both are key players for the Green Bay defense.  Head coach Mike McCarthy said that losing the two players would present a major challenge for the team the remainder of the season. The Packers are at 6-4 in NFL lines and right in the thick of the NFC Wild Card race. They can’t afford to lose many games down the stretch in NFL betting odds.

Pittsburgh is also dealing with injuries that could impact their NFL betting odds.  The injury to Roethlisberger may not be too bad but hits to the head are always a concern.  What makes it even more concerning is that backup quarterback Charlie Batch hurt his wrist and will be out for at least the next month an a half.  That could put Pittsburgh in the position of having to use third string quarterback Dennis Dixon in this week’s NFL betting odds game if Roethlisberger can’t go. The Steelers were shocked in NFL betting odds this past week by Kansas City, losing 27-24 in overtime.  Big Ben threw for 398 yards and three touchdowns but left the NFL betting odds contest with a possible concussion. “He took a blow, needless to say, it was a concussion-oriented thing so I doubt he was going to come back into the football game,” Head coach Mike Tomlin said. “I don’t have a lot of information in terms of where he is or his level of availability. We will have more information as we proceed.”

NFL betting odds have seen the Steelers lose two straight. Injuries have not helped the Steelers in NFL lines as they are also without Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu.  Guard Chris Kemoeatu was also injured in the NFL betting odds loss to the Chiefs as he has a sprained MCL in his right knee.

Pittsburgh has a huge game in NFL betting odds this week as they play Baltimore so they will need Roethlisberger.  NFL lines are likely to be very close on this must-win game for both teams.
