Sluggish Vikings and Eagles Meet in NFL Bets Championship Rematch

Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles

At the beginning of this season Minnesota and Philadelphia were NFL bets favorites to contend for the NFC title.  However, both teams have stumbled out of the gate with lethargic starts.  For this reason, it’s hard to believe they met for the NFC title last January.  On the whole neither team has looked like a serious playoff team so far.  Cause by a terrible ground game has Minnesota found rough sledding.  Meanwhile inconsistency has plagued Philadelphia after four games.  Gamblers have found neither side to be trustworthy so far.  Granted, the Vikings and Eagles still have plenty of potential.

Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota has an NFL bets record of 1-2-1 straight up and 2-2 vs. the spread.  And then the Vikings have split their four games on over under totals.  Following a week one win over the 49ers Minnesota has come up empty since.  So too did the Vikings lose at the Rams last week 38-31.  Nevertheless, Minnesota did get the money as 7.5-point chalks.  Fashion the NFL’s worst ranked ground attack as a major part of the problem.  In the same way the defense has been disappointing.  For example, the Vikings rank 22nd in the league for points allowed.

Kirk Cousins

Regardless of the Vikings many problems quarterback Kirk Cousins is not among them.  To show, Cousins has a 103.7 quarterback rating with 10 touchdowns and just two interceptions.  Cousins arrived with great fanfare this past offseason.  In fact, he was celebrated as the final piece of the puzzle.  Following this is the disappointment of production from the supporting cast thus far.  Also factoring as a detriment is a host of Viking injuries.

Philadelphia Eagles

Along the same lines Philadelphia is 2-2 straight up with just one sportsbook cover so far.  The Eagles have split their four games on totals.  Last week Philadelphia lost at Tennessee 26-23 in overtime.  As a consequence, they have failed to pay in three games in a row.  In comparison to last year the Eagles offense has struggled to finish.  To illustrate Philly ranks 27th in the NFL for scoring offense.  Defensively the Eagles are a solid ninth for points allowed.  On the whole quarterback Carson Wentz has shown well.  Last week he threw for 348 yards and two touchdowns.

Team vs Team

Philadelphia has dominated this head to head series with Minnesota.   Correlate the Eagles mark of 12-3 vs. the spread against the Vikings.  Five of the last eight between these teams have gone under the total.  Furthermore, at home Philly has paid in eight of their last nine against Minnesota.  And four of the last five in this series at Lincoln Financial Field have gone under the total.  Philadelphia plastered the Vikings 38-7 in the NFC title game last January.

Matchup to Watch

In this situation the Vikings injury woes and poor ground game are matchup liabilities for NFL bets.  Philadelphia has at least fielded a respectable defense.  For that reason, a Vikings call is a bridge too far.

Vikings vs. Eagles NFL Bets

Regardless of the revenge angle Minnesota is in poor form.  More emphatically they are not giving Cousins enough support.  Summing up the Eagles are the pick to continue their dominance of this series.
