Seattle Seahawks at Kansas City Chiefs NFL Betting

NFL betting on Saturday night includes a preseason game in Kansas City as the Chiefs host the Seattle Seahawks. NFL football odds have the Chiefs as a small home favorite in this game. Here is a look at the matchup between Seattle and Kansas City for Saturday.

NFL wagering lists Kansas City as a 2.5 point favorite with a total of 39.5. The NFL football betting line on this game is somewhat surprising considering Seattle has the better team. The Chiefs haven’t played that well in the NFL wagering preseason and new quarterback Matt Cassel does not look comfortable yet in the new offense that head coach Todd Haley has installed. Running back Larry Johnson has done very little in the NFL football betting preseason rushing for only 33 yards on 12 carries. The Chiefs are likely to be without defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey and linebacker Zach Thomas on NFL betting for Saturday as both are dealing with injuries.

Seattle has looked good in the preseason and they are one of the darkhorse NFL betting picks this season to make the playoffs. Seattle has renewed enthusiasm with new head coach Jim Mora Jr. and quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is healthy again. Hasselbeck was 16-of-23 passes for 171 yards last NFL week with two touchdowns. Seattle wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh has looked good and running back Julius Jones is poised for a good NFL betting season. Seattle even added veteran running back Edgerrin James this week as NFL info shows. Seattle does have some injury issues as Marcus Trufant, Chris Spencer and Walter Jones are out as NFL info tells us. Nate Burleson and Aaron Curry are questionable as NFL injuries indicate.

NFL tells us that starters for both teams are expected to go into the third quarter although Kansas City head coach Todd Haley is keeping things flexible. “We haven’t officially talked about it but I would say at least a series into the third quarter. I don’t know how much more than that. Now, some guys will have to but I don’t know how much as a whole past that.” Haley said.

The Seahawks and Chiefs have met three times in NFL betting preseason history and the Seahawks have won all three games. The last meeting was in 2005 as Seattle won 23-17 in NFL football betting.
