NFL betting odds could definitely be different on the Seattle Seahawks next season as they fired head coach Jim Mora Jr. and reportedly came to an agreement with USC’s Pete Carroll. NFL lines had the Seahawks struggling to a very poor 5-11 season but optimism will be high for next year with Carroll at the helm.
NFL betting had Mora being fired after just one season in Seattle. The Seahawks could be making more changes as Carroll wants his offensive coordinator, Jeremy Bates to join him in Seattle. Bates has been mentioned as a candidate for the Bears offensive coordinator job.
Carroll has been extremely successful at USC but his NFL lines success in the NFL is limited. Carroll was the head coach for New England from 1997 to 1999 and he coached the Jets during the 1994 NFL betting season. He was New York’s defensive coordinator from 1990 to 1993. He was the defensive backs coach for Minnesota from 1985-1989 and he had the same position with Buffalo in 1984.
The decision by Carroll to move to the NFL will affect a lot of people. Recruits that were looking at USC may now consider another school while Seattle is expected to look for a new general manager although many NFL betting reports have Carroll getting total control with the Seahawks.
While NFL betting could be impacted by the hiring of Carroll in Seattle it should be noted that Carroll is a college coach. He had almost no success in NFL betting odds action as an NFL head coach. He was 6-10 with the Jets in NFL betting odds and his teams at New England continued to get worse every season in NFL betting . Carroll has a great college reputation and many believe he will succeed at the NFL level as well but history is against him.
Mora did not have a good NFL betting odds season with Seattle. The team was non-competitive in many games in NFL lines. The offense was a mess and offensive coordinator Greg Knapp didn’t help either. The roster also has some serious problems on both sides of the ball as NFL betting stats show. Carroll will be expected to turn things around immediately in NFL lines. That may not be easy in NFL betting odds considering they have a quarterback in Matt Hasselbeck who looks like he is done, no running game and a defense with a lot of holes.
