San Diego Chargers at Kansas City NFL Betting

NFL betting favors the San Diego Chargers as they are on the road this Sunday at Kansas City.

The Chargers won’t be facing a winless team this week though in football betting since the Chiefs finally got their first win last week 14-6 at Washington as rookie kicker Ryan Succop hit a career-high four field goals.

NFL betting on the Chiefs has been interesting this season with the team in many games this season. Last week the Chiefs finally got a win, although it wasn’t pretty.  Quarterback Matt Cassel was sacked five times, the offense didn’t score a touchdown, but they did win at Washington.  “The one thing that you are going to get from this organization, these players and these coaches is 110% effort,” Cassel said. “It’s not always going to go exactly as we planned, but there is no doubt that there will always be the effort. We are working hard to get this thing figured out and going in the right direction.” In the end, it all paid off and a win is a win.”

NFL betting has not been successful in recent years on Kansas City but perhaps that is changing under new head coach Todd Haley.  The Chiefs could be a team to watch in NFL betting beginning with this home contest against San Diego.  One reason the Chiefs won in football betting against Washington was that they didn’t turn the ball over.

How will the Chiefs handle their newfound success in NFL betting?  “We’ll enjoy it for 24 hours and then we’ll move on,” center Rudy Niswanger said. “Your worry about the loss for 24 hours or you enjoy the win for 24 hours, then you move on to the next game. We’ve got a big opponent coming to town in San Diego and we’ve got a lot to work on.”

The Chargers and Chiefs meet twice every season so there are some definite NFL betting trends to consider.  Kansas City has done very well at home in football betting recently against San Diego.  The Chiefs have won 7 of the last 10 at home versus the Chargers. They are 6-3-1 against the NFL betting pointspread in those games.  Two of the last three games in Kansas City between the two teams went over the football betting total.  Last year the Chargers got a 22-21 win but they did not cover the six point football betting spread.
