San Diego Chargers at Dallas NFL Betting

NFL betting on Sunday features the 9-3 San Diego Chargers facing the 8-4 Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are still at the top of the NFC East but all is not well with Dallas as talk of another collapse is in the air after Dallas lost last week to the New York Giants in pro football betting.

NFL betting has Dallas as a 2.5 point favorite with a total of 48.5. The Cowboys are still getting a lot of respect in pro football betting even with their poor record in December. Last season the Cowboys went 1-3 in December and missed the playoffs. “Until we win, I know we’re going to hear about (December),” linebacker Bradie James said. “No matter how bad it can be, we’ve got to figure out a way to win.” Quarterback Tony Romo is just 5-9 in the month of December but it was not his fault last week as he threw for a career-high 392 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the NFL betting loss.

San Diego Chargers leads the AFC in scoring at 28.5 points per game as NFL betting stats show. Unlike Dallas, the Chargers have thrived in the month of December in NFL betting. They have won 15 straight games straight up in December. “We seem to finish strong,” said LaDainian Tomlinson, “We’ve talked about it and really made it one of our mottos. I think that has a lot to do with our mindsets in December. We want to play our best football in December going into January.” San Diego is a force in NFL betting with quarterback Philip Rivers who leads the AFC with a 104.9 passer rating.

San Diego and Dallas have not played in NFL betting since 2005. The Cowboys have won six of the eight matchups in the all-time series. The NFL betting trends favor San Diego in this game. The Chargers are 8-2 vs. pro football betting odds in their last 10 games in December, and they are 19-6-3 vs. NFL betting lines in their last 28 games as an underdog.

The one positive for Dallas in NFL betting is that they are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite. The Cowboys are 3-13-2 vs. pro football betting pointspreads in their last 18 games in December. 20 of the last 31 San Diego road games have gone over in NFL betting.
