Rams Make for Dangerous Betting on Super Bowl LIII Dog

While the Super Bowl LIII odds opened as a pick ‘em the public quickly jumped on New England.  It makes sense that the Patriots became the betting on Super Bowl favorites as the proven champion in this highly anticipated matchup.  But there is likely going to be plenty of bargain hunters that see the Los Angeles Rams as a viable alternative.  Los Angeles has a wide-ranging appeal that begins with head coach Sean McVay.  Indeed, he is considered the brightest offensive mind in pro football.  Extending the desire for gamblers is x-box quarterback Jared Goff.

Jared Goff

Jared Goff is in just his second year as the starting quarterback of the Rams.  And the young prodigy has shown everything necessary to rewrite the record book.  To be exact his passer rating has been over 100 for the past two years.  Subsequently Goff threw for 4688 yards and 32 touchdown passes this season.  However, the Rams have far more in than just Goff for Betting on Super Bowl assets.

Important Names on the Field

Certainly, running back Todd Gurley keeps defenses honest to free up Goff’s passing.  Gurley ran for 1251 yards, 4.9 yards per carry and 17 touchdowns on the season.  Wide receiver Robert Woods is another dangerous threat.  Woods caught 86 passes for 1219 yards and 14.2 yards per catch this season. And he added six touchdown catches.

Greg Zuerlein

Fashion the clutch kicking of Greg Zuerlein.  In the 26-23 NFC championship game win at New Orleans nobody figured better.  First, Zuerlein hit a pressure packed 48-yard field goal to send the game into overtime with 15 seconds remaining.  Second, he won the game in overtime with a monster 58-yard field goal.  It was one of the biggest and most memorable kicks of all time.

Sean McVay

Arguably the most important Ram is head coach Sean McVay.  Indeed, much of the rest of the NFL has spent the past several weeks trying to “find the next McVay.”  The Rams head coach is seen as a top online wagering asset based on what is perceived to be his brilliance at offensive schemes.  Most important of all McVay has delivered verifiable results.  Consider that he has elevated the Rams into a playoff team in his first two seasons at the helm.

McVay and Goff

As a matter of fact, there is talk of McVay and Goff becoming the NFL championship partnership of the future.  Which means it would replace the Bill Belichick – Tom Brady dominant duo in New England.  At the onset of Super Bowl LIII Los Angeles has the opportunity to facilitate a changing of the guard in pro football.

Matchup to Watch

While the Rams defense is not elite it is just good enough as proven so far in the playoffs.  Los Angeles has the offense to make for a major betting on Super Bowl matchup advantage.  And just enough defense to keep them out of trouble.  But should trouble arrive kicker Greg Zuerlein has ice water in his veins.

Patriots vs. Rams Betting on Super Bowl Picks

In sum McVay and Goff represent the future of the NFL.
