Rams Betting Home Chalks vs. Determined Cowboys – NFL Divisional Playoffs

Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Rams

Although the Los Angeles Rams were one of the winningest teams in the NFL that did not translate into profits on the board.  LA was a subpar betting on NFL value that proved to be a consistent overlay.  And that lack of reliability will certainly be put to the test Saturday night.  That Dallas Cowboys are getting seven fat points as the road dog at Los Angeles.  It follows that they will be a tempting play on the heels of their playoff win last week over Seattle.  Additionally, Dallas has the defense to hang in their matchup at LA.

Dallas Cowboys

Last week Dallas scored a 24-22 win over Seattle as 2.5-point home overlays.  The playoff win was a defensive struggle broken by Cowboys back Ezekiel Elliot.  To show Elliott ran for 137 yards and a TD to secure the win.  Dallas had a Betting on NFL record of 10-6 straight up, 9-7 against the spread and 7-9 under the total.  Overall the Cowboys ranked 22nd in the NFL for scoring offense but sixth for points allowed.  Quarterback Dak Prescott posted a 96.9 rating with 22 touchdown passes.  And Elliott amassed 1434 yards with 4.7 yards per carry.

Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles posted an online wagering record of 13-3 straight up, 7-8-1 vs. the line, and 8-8 on totals.  As a result, the Rams got a bye last week as NFC West Division champions.  LA ranked second for scoring offense but 20th for points allowed.  Not withstanding the red ink, the Rams did pay in three of their last five games.  Quarterback Jared Goff had another big year.  To illuminate Goff passed for 4688 yards and 32 touchdowns with a 101.1 rating.  Running back Todd Gurley kept defenses honest with 1251 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns.

Stats to Consider

Dallas has been a strong betting value as a road dog.  Late on the Cowboys have covered four of their last five in that role.  Seven of their last nine as road pups went under the total.  Counter to that is the Rams poor value as a home favorite.  LA has paid in just one of their last six games laying points at Memorial Coliseum.  Just one of their last seven in that situation went under the total.

Team vs. Team

Head to head Dallas has had the recent advantage against the Rams.  As an example, the Cowboys have paid in three of the last four meetings.  Three of the last five between the Cowboys and Rams have gone over the total.  Extending Dallas’ success is four payouts in their last five away games against the Rams.  Four of those five games also went over the total.

Matchup to Watch

To begin with Dallas has a betting on NFL advantage on defense.  As mentioned earlier they have also been the superior wagering value.  More emphatically the Rams have been consistent overlays at home.  Of great concern is the weak Los Angeles defense.
