Seattle Seahawks

At the beginning of the season there were various betting on NFL theories on the Seahawks.  Two losses in their first two games hardly helped the cause.  But the coaching of Pete Carroll and quarterbacking of Russell Wilson sparked a resurgence.  Seattle won six of their last seven games with seven of their last eight soaring over the total.  As a result, the Seahawks finished 10-6 straight up, 9-5-2 vs. the line, and 9-7 over the total.  Seattle was three games behind the LA Rams in the NFC West.  They have NFL ranks of eighth for scoring offense and 11th for points allowed.

Dallas Cowboys

Dallas also had the hot online wagering hand to close the season in impressive fashion.  For example, the Cowboys won seven of their last eight games with six payouts in that span.  Overall America’s Team finished 10-6 straight up, 9-7 vs. the odds, and 7-9 under the total.  As a consequence, Dallas won the NFC East championship.  Offensively the Cowboys struggled all season and finished 22nd in the NFL for scoring.  Balanced against that was a defense that ranked sixth for points allowed.  Likewise, the Cowboys demonstrated great resiliency and fortitude this year.

Both quarterbacks in this matchup are assets and winners.  Dallas’ Dak Prescott has a 96.9 rating with a 22/8 touchdown to interception ratio.  Seattle’s Russell Wilson has a 110.9 rating with a 35/7 TD/INT ratio.

Team vs. Team

Seattle has lost just one of their last six games on the board as a road dog.  Three of their last five in that role went over the total.  At the same time the Cowboys have lost just two of their last six vs. the number as a home chalk.  Four of their last five in that situation went over the total. In this situation Seattle has had the recent edge in their series with Dallas.  As an example, the Seahawks have paid in four of their last six against the Cowboys.  Five of those six games went under the total.  Also, the Seahawks have covered two of their last three visits to Dallas.  All three games went under the total.

Matchup to Watch

The one Betting on NFL matchup advantage Seattle has is Russell Wilson.  Correspondingly this game is likely where Dallas’ inconsistent offense comes back to bite them.  As mentioned earlier the Seahawks are profitable with Dallas.
