Power Patriots Look to Scale Fish in Bet on NFL Sunday Matchup

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins

On September 30, 2018 Miami was told who was boss in the AFC East.  Specifically, the Dolphins entered New England’s Gillete Stadium with a bet on NFL record of 3-0.  Meanwhile the slumping Patriots were 1-2 and being written off for dead.  Miami was declared as the new top team in the AFC East.  And it was said the Fish were ready to establish a new era of glory.  They walked onto the field with plenty of hype.  In turn they went home without their manhood.  Bill Belichick’s Patriots emasculated the Dolphins 38-7.  Things have never been the same since.

New England Patriots

New England has been one of the top teams to bet on NFL games with this season.  For example, the Patriots are 9-3 straight up, 8-4 against the spread with 4-8 under the total.  As a result, the Patriots lead the AFC East by three games.  Last week the Patriots scored a 24-10 home payout over Minnesota.  It was the third straight game that New England went under the total.  Concurrently the Patriots have the metrics of a top team.  Overall New England has NFL ranks of rank seventh for scoring offense and ninth for points allowed.

Miami Dolphins

Miami has an offshore bookmaker record of 6-6 straight up, 7-5 vs. the odds and 5-7 under the total.  Last time out the Dolphins covered a 21-17 home win over Buffalo.  Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns in the win.  It was the fourth consecutive game that the Dolphins stayed under the total.  Miami’s metrics are not those of a playoff team.  To show, the Dolphins rank 29th in the NFL both offensively and defensively.  Balanced against that is the improvement of Tannehill.  Concurrently his rating is 98.4 with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Stats to Consider

New England has been in the black as a road chalk.  To exemplify the Patriots have paid in 14 of their last 20 laying points away from home.  And nine of their last 12 in that role have gone over the total.  Counter to that is Miami’s mark of just three covers in their last eight as a home pup.

Team vs Team

New England has dominated this head to head series with the Dolphins.  To illuminate the Patriots have covered the spread in six of their last eight games with Miami.  And four of the last seven between these teams have gone under the total.  However, at Miami the Fish have had the better board value.  In fact, the Patriots have gotten the cash in just one of their last six visits to Miami.  Four of the last six meetings between these teams at Hard Rock Stadium have gone under the total.

Matchup to Watch

New England has the bet on NFL matchup edge with quarterback Tom Brady.  Most of all the Patriots are in much better form.
