Superbowl props continue to be more popular every year as gamblers look to wager on virtually everything. One area of Super Bowl odds that gets some attention is the margin of victory and total number of points in Superbowl props. Let’s take a look at both of these Superbowl props for Super Bowl XLIII between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. Superbowl props on the margin of victory are interesting to consider. Pittsburgh is a 7 point favorite in regular Super Bowl odds but with the Superbowl props you have a lot of other choices for Arizona and for Pittsburgh.
Let’s say you believe the Super Bowl odds maker has done a great job and that Pittsburgh will win by something close to the 7 point margin. You could take Pittsburgh to win by 4-6 points at about 4-1 and Pittsburgh to win by between 7 and 10 points at 5-1. If Pittsburgh won the game by anywhere between 4-10 points then you would have a very nice return for your Superbowl props wagers. Let’s say you think the game will be close. The Superbowl props odds on the Steelers winning by 1 to 3 points is about 4.5 to 1. Arizona to win by 1 to 3 points is about 5.5 to 1. Those Superbowl props odds are interesting but what if you want a big longshot return for your money. Let’s say you think the game will be a blowout. Pittsburgh to win by 18-21 points is 12-1 while Pittsburgh winning by 22 or more points is 8-1. Arizona to win by 18-21 points is 18-1 and the Cardinals winning by 22 or more is 12-1.
What about the total in Superbowl props? Again, if you think the Super Bowl odds makers did a good job you could take the numbers right around 46 and 47 since 46.5 is the total. 43-49 points scored is 2-1 in Superbowl props odds. Not much value in that is there? There isn’t much value unless you are willing to take a big chance. If you think it will be a very low scoring game you could take 0-14 points at 20-1 and 15-21 points at 9-1. If you think it will be very high scoring you could take 64-70 points at 12-1, 71-77 points at 20-1 and 78 or more points at 25-1 in Superbowl props odds.
