The Steelers had only three offshore betting picks through the first four rounds as a result of the DK Metcalf trade. Still, they managed to walk away with a fantastic class. Pittsburgh found a heavy-handed defensive tackle in Harmon. Correlate that Harmon can both anchor against the run and get pressures in the passing game. Then there’s Johnson, who ran for 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns last year with the Hawkeyes, leading the Big Ten in both categories. Indeed, Derrick Harmon and Johnson should contribute immediately.

The Steelers have two new quarterbacks. So, to ensure one of them succeeds, they’ll need to beef up the offensive line. Two new blockers will also be needed. Cause of the Diontae Johnson trade, the Steelers will also have to find at least one new receiver.

Overall, the Steelers did a great job. Their 2025 NFL futures draft class comes with some risk, but if they can develop on the field, the Steelers will have multiple new starters.

Jack Sawyer dropped down the boards due to his average athleticism. But he’s an active playmaker who could become a star with the Steelers. Pittsburgh ignored Black’s lack of pure athleticism to install his massive frame on the line. Additionally, Howard needs to improve his deep accuracy, but he brings everything else a team wants in a backup quarterback.

Certainly, most ignorant ESPN viewers believed that the Steelers would draft Shedeur Sanders at No. 21 overall. However, accurate media personnel widely reported that Pittsburgh had no interest in the Colorado quarterback. Thus, it was no surprise to gamblers who know football that the Steelers selected a defensive tackle with their opening-round choice. Namely, Derrick Harmon should be a good replacement for Cameron Heyward down the road.

Yet again, the Steelers passed on Sanders because they needed to keep Aaron Rodgers happy. The Steelers and Rodgers are likely to sign a deal soon.

Furthermore, Pittsburgh addressed its backfield with the next pick. However, they may have picked up too early for a running back. Namely, Kaleb Johnson could have easily gone in the second round, so his value remains to be seen. In turn, Pittsburgh continued to find tremendous bargains throughout the weekend, particularly with Jack Sawyer in the fourth round.
