Philadelphia Eagles NFL Preseason Betting

One of the most interesting teams to following in NFL preseason betting is going to be the Philadelphia Eagles. They will be without long-time quarterback Donovan McNabb who is now in Washington, so the focus will be on Kevin Kolb.  The Eagles could be undervalued in NFL preseason odds as they have a lot of talent.

NFL preseason betting on the Eagles will begin on August 13th as the Eagles host the Jacksonville Jaguars.  The Eagles will be favored in this game and they could get some attention from gamblers. Kolb could get more playing time than a normal first string quarterback in the preseason since the Eagles will want to give him a lot of time to get comfortable in the offense.

The Eagles will likely be small underdogs in NFL preseason odds in Week 2 as they travel to Cincinnati.   They could also be a good choice in this game as the Bengals have never been a great team laying points.  The Eagles face the Chiefs in Week 3 on the road and they could be a slight favorite in this game. Week 3 is normally the week where the starters play the most so the Eagles should be going with their starters into the second half.  Philadelphia concludes the preseason at home on September 2nd as they host the New York Jets.  It is very unlikely the starters will play long in this game as the last preseason game is pretty much a throw away game for both teams.

The Eagles have some good offensive talent surrounding Kolb so it will be interesting to see how they do in the preseason.  The Eagles have DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Brent Celek as receiving options for Kolb and they have LeSean McCoy and Mike Bell to run the ball. The defense will have some new players that should get a lot of playing time in the preseason.  Ernie Sims was a very good pickup and Darryl Tapp could also make a difference.

Philadelphia is a dark horse to win the Super Bowl at odds of 17-1.  They are not getting a lot of respect even though they are the second choice in the betting odds behind Dallas to win the NFC East. The Cowboys are -125 to win the division while the Eagles are the 2.5 to 1 second choice.
