Philadelphia Eagles at Washington NFL Betting

NFL betting on Monday favors the Philadelphia Eagles on the road as they face the Washington Redskins. The Eagles are still respected in pro football betting even though they are coming off a shocking loss last week to Oakland. NFL betting on Washington has not been very successful this season and their head coach Jim Zorn is not long for the job.  His play calling duties were stripped this week and Sherm Lewis will be calling the offensive plays.  The problems for the Redskins won’t be solved without a lot of changes including at head coach and at quarterback.  The Eagles are a touchdown favorite in pro football betting odds with a total of 37.5.

Philadelphia Eagles has been no bargain laying points but taking Washington is never something that is popular with those that get involved in NFL betting. The Eagles were a very popular play last week but they not only didn’t cover the NFL betting number, they didn’t even win the game against Oakland. “It’s a great lesson to learn that no team is as good as you think in this league and no team is as bad as you think in this league,” coach Andy Reid said. “It’s the National Football League and you better be ready every week to play and execute as coaches and players and it starts with me.”  The Eagles were a mess all the way around last week in their NFL betting loss.  They missed two field goals, mismanaged the clock and couldn’t even block and tackle.

As bad as things were last week for the Eagles in pro football betting, the Redskins have been worse.  They lost at home last week 14-6 in NFL betting to the previously winless Kansas City Chiefs.  The Redskins are averaging 13.2 points per game, fourth-fewest in the league. Washington is sticking with quarterback Jason Campbell even though he was benched last week. “I’ve been on a shorter leash since March,” Campbell said.

Last season in NFL betting the Eagles lost both games against Washington.  Monday has been pretty good to Philadelphia lately as they are 5-1 in NFL betting in their last 6 Monday games. They are 13-6 vs. the NFL betting number in their last 19 road games. The Eagles are 1-3-1 vs. NFL betting odds in their last 5 meetings in Washington.

The Redskins are 1-3-1 in pro football betting in their last 5 games as a home underdog. The underdog in this NFL betting series has gone 4-0-1 in the last five meetings.
