Philadelphia Eagles at Oakland Football Betting

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

Football betting for Week 6 in the NFL has the Philadelphia Eagles as a huge two-touchdown favorite at the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders are considered a mess and not many people want to take them in NFL betting, even when they are getting 14 points.

Football betting should be very popular on the Eagles this week. The team looked good last week in a rout of Tampa Bay and on paper they should have little trouble against a bad Raiders team. Donovan McNabb was 16 of 21 passes for 264 yards, with three touchdowns last week. "I was able to move around and be very effective doing different things, pick up a couple first downs with my legs," said McNabb, "I was able to let defenses know that can happen." The Eagles got a breakout game last week from rookie wide receiver Jeremy Maclin who had six catches for two touchdowns and 142 yards. Football betting has the Eagles at second in the league in scoring, averaging 31.8 points per game.

Football betting has the Raiders being outscored 96-16 during their three-game losing streak. They were so bad last week against the Giants in football betting that one New York player called playing against the Raiders like playing in a scrimmage. The Raiders offense was terrible led by JaMarcus Russell who has proven to be the worst quarterback in the league. He won’t find things easy against a Philadelphia defense that ranks fourth in the league in total defense as football betting stats show.

The Raiders and Eagles have not met in football betting since 2005 when the Eagles won 23-20. All-time in NFL betting, the Eagles and Raiders have met ten times with each team winning five games. Philadelphia has been solid in football betting laying points of late as they are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite. The Eagles are 9-3 in NFL betting in their last 12 games overall. They are also a very potent 13-5 in football betting in their last 18 road games. The Raiders have simply been horrible in NFL betting recently. They are 15-35-1 in football betting in their last 51 home games.

Taking at look at the football betting total we see that the last five Philadelphia games have gone over. Six of the last eight Oakland games at home have gone under the NFL betting number.
