This Sunday the 14th of Dec. 2014, one game that should be very interesting in NFL Week 15 is the match-up between the Miami Dolphins 7-6 (2nd AFC East) playing the New England Patriots 10-3 (1st AFC East) with the game played at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, with game time at 1 PM ET and on CBS TV, with the Patriots favored at –7 ½ with O/U 48 and ML -360 with comeback ML +300 on the Dolphins.
Presently the New England Patriots are a mere 1 win away from another AFC East Division Title, while the Dolphins who with another loss, are possibly out of the playoffs again in 2014. The Patriots are after their 6th consecutive AFC East Title, and that would make it their 12 Title in the last 14 season as they play Miami, this Sunday with a lot at stake for both franchises.
Last Sunday the Patriots played at the San Diego Chargers and the Patriots defense held the Chargers to only 216 offensive yards in the Patriots win 23-14, while the week before they lost to the Packers 26-21, and they allowed the Packers some 478 offensive yards, which was their worst this season in offensive yardage allowed by an opponent this 2014 season.
The Miami Dolphins on the other side are also looking for a win as they seek their 1st playoff berth since back in 2008, but they are struggling as they lost 3 of their last 5 games, and even they win their last 2 games they still are in a difficult position, as their presently are some 10 other teams in the AFC at 7 and 6 or even better. The Dolphins are allowing their opponents some 407.6 yards per game in the last 3 of 5 games, and in their 1st ten games they only allowed the opponents an average of 302.4 yards per game. At present their weakest part of the defense is against the run, as they have allowed some 661 rushing in the last 3 games. In their 1st game of the season the Dolphins had their season high rushing yards of 191 yards, but still lost to the Patriots 20-33. Since then the Dolphins have struggled with their rushing offense as in their last 5 games they have only amassed some 81.6 yards rushing per game.
In this matchup the Dolphins have been averaging 24.2 points scored per game, while allowing opponents some 20.0 points per game, and the game record for 2014 is 2-3 at home and 4-3 on the road. The Patriots are averaging scoring some 30.8 points per game, while allowing opponents 20.5 points per game with their game record of 6-0 at home and 4-3 on the road.
