Oakland Raiders at Dallas NFL Betting

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

NFL betting heavily favors the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving as they host the Oakland Raiders.

The Cowboys are laying almost two touchdowns at home in football betting. NFL betting on the Raiders has not been very popular but last week Oakland showed they can rise up and play well.  The Raiders shocked the Cincinnati Bengals last week in NFL betting and with Bruce Gradkowski at quarterback they actually looked like an NFL team. Most bettors will probably side with the Cowboys in this football betting contest but Dallas has not looked very good of late even though they are winning.

The Raiders defeated Cincinnati 20-17 last week in NFL betting as the Bengals fumbled a kickoff late in the game to set up Oakland’s winning field goal.  Gradkowski gave the Raiders some excitement and strong play at the quarterback position and Oakland was a big underdog winner. They could have similar success in football betting against a Dallas team that seems to play down to the level of their competition.

Dallas won last week 7-6 against Washington in a game in which they were shutout for more than three quarters. Quarterback Tony Romo struggled with a back injury but threw the winning touchdown late in the game to Patrick Crayton. It was only the second time in franchise history that the Cowboys won a regular-season game with seven or fewer points.  The previous week the Cowboys had scored only seven points in the loss to Green Bay.  It is the first time since 2002 that the Cowboys have scored seven or fewer points in back-to-back games. "Not the way we pictured it, obviously," head coach Wade Phillips said. "You find out a lot about your team under pressure. A lot of things weren’t going well, especially offensively for us. But when the pressure was really on, guys came through and made plays."

The Cowboys will have to get focused quickly for this NFL betting game on Thursday. "Just hang in there – take care of your body and get a lot of ice," inside linebacker Bradie James said. "And don’t eat any turkey until after the game."

The Raiders and Cowboys don’t meet a lot in NFL betting. The last time they played was in Oakland back in 2005 and the Raiders came away with the 19-13 NFL betting win.  The last time they met in Dallas was in 1998 and the Raiders won 13-12 in football betting.
