Not Super, but fun: Pro Bowl American football betting

January 24, 2017 NFL Football

2017 Pro Bowl bettingThe 2017 Pro Bowl will make for some American football betting action at SBG online sportsbook while we wait for the Super Bowl. The NFL games odds for the Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida will be forthcoming.

The AFC starting lineup comprises quarterback Andy Dalton (Bengals), running back Melvin Gordon (Chargers), fullback Kyle Juszczyk (Ravens), wide receivers Demaryus Thomas (Steelers) and Amari Cooper (Raiders), tight end Travis Kelce (KC Chiefs), offensive tackles Donald Penn (Raiders) and Joe Thomas (Browns), guards Kelechi Osemele (Raiders) and Marshal Yanda (Ravens), and center Rodney Houston (Raiders) on offense; ends Khalil Mack (Raiders) and Cameron Wake (Dolphins), tackles Ndamukong Suh (Dolphins) and Geno Atkins (Bengals), outside linebackers Lorenzo Alexander (Bills) and Von Miller (Broncos), inside linebacker Zach Brown (Bills), cornerbacks Aqib Talib (Broncos) and Marcus Peters (Chiefs), free safety Eric Weddle (Ravens), and strong safety Eric Berry (Chiefs) on defense; and punter Pat McAfee (Colts), placekicker Justin Ticker (Ravens), punt returner Tyreek Hill (Chiefs), special teamer DJ Alexander (Chiefs), and long snapper Morgan Cox (Ravens) on special teams.

The NFC starters include QB Drew Brees (Saints), RB Zeke Elliott (Cowboys), FB Mike Tolbert (Panthers), WRs Dez Bryant (Cowboys) and Odell Beckham (Giants), TE Greg Olsen (Panthers), OTs Trent Williams (Redskins) and Tyron Smith (Cowboys), OGs Zack Martin (Cowboys) and Brandon Scherff (Redskins), and C Travis Frederick (Cowboys) on offense; DEs Cliff Avril (Seahawks) and Everson Griffen (Vikings), DTs Gerald McCoy (Buccaneers) and Aaron Donald (Rams), OLBs Anthony Barr (Vikings) and Ryan Kerrigan (Redskins), ILB Bobby Wagner (Seahawks), CBs Janoris Jenkins (Giants) and Patrick Peterson (Cardinals), FS Harrison Smith (Vikings), and SS Landon Collins (Giants) on defense; and P Johnny Hekker (Rams), PK Matt Prater (Lions), PR Cordarrelle Patterson (Vikings), ST Dwayne Harris (Giants), and LS Jake ‘Lone Wolf’ McQaide on special teams.

Many other American football betting fan favorites will better too. On the other hand, other players will be missing due to injury or fatigue. Needless to say that all New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons players that had been selected to the Pro Bowl pulled out of it in order to prepare for the Super Bowl, which takes place only a week later. That should change the NFL games odds for the All Star game from when the lineups were originally announced.

This will be the first year since 2013 that the Pro Bowl will feature the “conference format” which had been in use for about 40 years before being briefly replaced by the “drafted format.” The last time the AFC played the NFC, the latter won 62-35. This will also mark the first time the All Star Game is played in Orlando – Camping World will be its home for the next two seasons as well – and a return to the continental United States after the 2015 edition was played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This change of location could also have affected American football betting lines and NFL games odds for the Pro Bowl.
