Moving into the NFL 2015-16 Preseason 2nd weeks we will briefly preview 2 games, the 1st being the Chargers playing the Cardinals and the 2nd game with the Bears playing at the Colts.
Thus, if you’re a football fanatic and Bet on NFL at SBG online or other similar sportsbooks, we first take a look at the Chargers of San Diego playing at the Cardinals of Arizona with the game being played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona with the kick-off scheduled for 10 PM ET on Saturday the 22nd of August 2015. The Vegas opening odds has the Cardinals favored at -2.5 with the Over/under at 39.5 and the underdog Chargers are +2.5.
Even as the Cardinals lost to the Chiefs in the 1st preseason game, they happily had QB Palmer back in the lineup, and in his playing time in the game he orchestrated an 80 yard scoring drive on the 1st time the Cardinals had the ball in the game. He also passed 4 times for some 78 yards in this game.
On the defensive side for Arizona FS T. Mathieu was the star as he intercepted QB A. Smith’s pass and returned same for some 30 yards, and they are happy to have in back on the roster after 20 months absence due to ACL and LCL injuries in 2014.
The Cardinals need to get prepared as the Chargers after their win over the Cowboys 17-7 in their 1st game, are seeking to win this game with the Cards this Saturday, as their defense was responsible for the Cowboys fumbling on 3 occasions.
In their 1st game the Chargers did not display a passing game, but they did run the ball as all 5 of their roster RB’s hand their hands on the ball in this game, and most impressive was D. Woodhead’s return for 8 yards and a TD. Their 1st round RB pick had 6 carries for 11 yards, while starter B. Oliver had 11 carries for 52 yards and a TD. It appears as the Chargers want to emphasize the running game to take more pressure off QB Rivers in the regular season, and after that 1st game, it seems that they have the talent at RB to do just that.
In this 1st game the prediction is that the Cardinals of Arizona squeak by the Chargers of San Diego with the final score Arizona 21 San Diego 20.
The 2nd game coming to us from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana features the Bears of Chicago visiting the Colts of Indianapolis on Saturday the 22nd of August 2015 with kick-off scheduled at 7:30 PM ET. The early Vegas odds have the Colts favored at -3 with the Over/under 42 and the underdog Bears at +3.
The Colts don’t seem to be concerned with their loss to the Eagles 36-10 in their 1st preseason game, since many of their starting players were absent like RB F. Gore, WR T. Hilton and CB V. Davis. That and QB Luck only passed some 6 times, completing 8 for some 44 yards, and free agent A. Johnson did play catching 1 pass for 8 yards.
We expect the Colts will have more starters at least to begin this game, and to see QB Luck play at least 2 series. In game 1 he was relieved by M. Hasselbeck who completed 8 of his 17 pass attempts and for some 74 yards on completions and he appears to be the No. 2 QB as QB Bennett only completed 4 of his 16 attempts for 34 yards and was intercepted 2 times. In the 1st game rookie CB D. Smith left with an injury, while WR P. Dorsett had 4 receptions for 50 yards, and RB J. Robinson rushed for 44 yards and 1 TD.
The visiting Chicago team beat the Dolphins 27-10 in their 1st preseason game, as their QB Cutler said he missed his 2 WR’s in A. Jeffery and K. White both out with injuries. QB Cutler played for 2 series as he passed some 7 times completing 4 passes for 44 yards.
Bears fans can expect the QB Cutler will play no more than 2 series as back-up QB J. Clausen will strengthen his backup spot, after he had a decent game against the Dolphins with 17 completions on 27 attempts that went for a net 152 yards against Miami in the opener.
On defense the Bears have some tough reserves, as LB S. Acho in the 4th quarter of the game against Miami made an interception that brought about a FG. Watch the Bears attempt another rally if the Colts play their 3rd string offense.
The prediction for this game is that the Colts will entertain their fans with a victory over the Bears of Chicago and cover their -3 favorite odds.
