NFL – Week 2-Cowboys at Eagles-Preview

With the 2nd week of the NFL 2015 Regular Season upon us we take a look at what we think can turn out to be an exciting game on the Sunday the 20th of September 2015 with the Cowboys of Dallas playing at the Eagles of Philadelphia with the game being played at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with kick-off scheduled for 4:30 PM ET and see on FOX TV.

The opening odds at SBG for those that Bet on NFL at an Offshore Betting site has the Eagles the favorites at -5 with the Over/under at 55 and -225 on the Money Line, while the underdog Cowboys are +5 and +185 on the Money Line. Strange the Cowboys last week were the only NFC East team that did not lose their 1st game after they beat the Giants of New York, and now the boys will try to beat their rival from a different division in their 1st road game this season playing at Philadelphia. We ask can Dallas win 2 consecutive or will the Eagles post their 1st win of the season in this week 2 game.

The Cowboys of Dallas and their fans surely enjoyed their win over the Giants of New York last Sunday, as your QB Romo led the team from a deficit to a victory 27-26, and thus avoided another 1st game of the season lost as the one in 2014 to the 49’ers of San Francisco. One thing Dallas realized from this game is that offensively their future games in 2015 will be tougher without the likes of star WR D. Bryant.

In that 1st game Bryant injured his foot and will be absent for 4-6 weeks. Thus QB Romo loses a main offensive weapon for that period. A result is that we will see more passing to Witten scored 2 TD’s and 8 receptions for 61 yards in the game. QB Romo will also be looking for T. Williams and C. Beasley receivers who combined for 110 yards in the week 1 game, but scored no TD’s.

It’s obvious that the absence of RB D. Murray means the Cowboys will rely more on their passing game, as against the Giants they only accumulated some 81 rushing yards. Their duo of RB’s J. Randle had 65 yards rushing, while D. McFadden had 6 carries for a mere 17 yards.

In 2014 in the game between Dallas and the Eagles, QB Romo passed for 3 TD’s and 266 yards as the Cowboys beat Philadelphia at home 38-27 on the 15th of December 2014. As the Dallas running game has diminished, QB Romo will have to move the ball against the Eagles. He should be able to accomplish that since in the 1st game against the Giants he passed for some 358 yards, and the fact that the Eagles defensive secondary allowed last week’s opponents Falcon some 300 yards via passing. Dallas in their last 10 games on the road has 8 wins and 2 losses.

For the Eagles of Philadelphia fans, your team trailing to the Falcons 20-3 at half time tried their best to make a comeback in the 2nd half of the Monday night game but could not pull it off losing to the Falcon 26-24 in that 1st Monday Night Football game 2015.

In that Monday night game the Eagles defense struggled as they allowed the Falcon to accumulate some 396 yards, but they did intercept QB Ryan’s on 2 occasions. However, they did not fare well as they allowed Falcons WR B. Maxwell to have receptions for 141 yards and scoring 2 TD’s.

In this game the Eagle defense must put more pressure on Dallas QB Romo, as if they can halt the passing game of Dallas, their running game will be a better scenario to face for the Eagles defense.

Eagles QB Bradford passed for 1 TD on some 338 yards and was intercepted once in the game. RB Murray scored 2 TD’s, 1 a rushing TD and on 1 on a pass reception. Also veteran RB D. Sproles had 5 carries for 50 yards in that Monday night game. In their last 6 games at home the Eagles had 4 wins and 2 losses.

The prediction for this game see the Eagles of Philadelphia overcoming the Cowboys of Dallas and winning the game 35-31 in a game that will be filled with excitement for the fans of both teams.
