NFL Wagering Online: Pittsburgh at Miami

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

One of the best games this week in NFL wagering online is in Miami as the Dolphins host the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers have Ben Roethlisberger back in the starting lineup and they are now considered one of the best teams in the league. If you want to make an NFL bet on the Steelers at SBG you will have to lay three points.

Pittsburgh 4-1 SU, 4-1 ATS – The Steelers are at the top of some power rankings this week and they sure looked good last week with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger back in the lineup. Big Ben threw three touchdowns and had just one interception against the Browns.  His level of competition goes way up this week as he faces a very good Miami defense.  The Steelers won their first three games with a great defense and it was good again last week against the Browns.  The Steelers are simply not giving opponents much in terms of offense and they are the number one defense in the NFL in terms of fewest points allowed.

Miami 3-2 SU, 3-2 ATS – The Dolphins got a big overtime win last week against Green Bay. Not many teams go into Green Bay and win but the Dolphins did it. Miami likes to run the ball with Ronnie Brown and Rickey Williams but that will not be easy this week against Pittsburgh.  Quarterback Chad Henne is going to have to play well for Miami to have a chance to win this game.

Pittsburgh Trends – The Steelers are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Steelers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Steelers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite. The Steelers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games in Week 7.

Miami Trends – The Dolphins are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games as an underdog. The Dolphins are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games in October. The
Dolphins are 15-41-1 ATS in their last 57 home games.

The Total – You would think with Pittsburgh and Miami playing defense this game would go under in NFL wagering online.  The problem with that assumption is the trends don’t support it. The Over is 8-3 in the Steelers last 11 games as a road favorite. The Over is 3-0-1 in the Dolphins last 4 home games and the Under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings between the two teams in Miami.
