NFL Preseason Odds – Eagles at Bengals on Fox

NFL preseason odds on Friday get the spotlight as the Philadelphia Eagles face the Cincinnati Bengals on Fox. The Bengals may be a good NFL preseason betting choice in this game as they are at home and playing their third preseason game while the Eagles are playing their second.

NFL preseason odds list the Bengals as three-point home favorites with a total of 36. Cincinnati should be a good choice in this game for gamblers.  The Bengals have a good offense led by Carson Palmer and his receiving duo of Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco.  The Bengals can always run the ball with Cedric Benson and Bernard Scott. The Bengals also have an edge in backup quarterbacks with J.T. O’Sullivan. He is definitely better than what the Eagles have after Kevin Kolb.  Normally when a team is playing their third preseason game the starters get more playing time but keep in mind that the Bengals played in the Hall of Fame game so they will have five preseason games this year instead of four.

Quarterbacks:  Kevin Kolb should have a good season for the Eagles but after he leaves the game it is Michael Vick and Mike Kafka.  Neither of those two inspires any confidence.  At least after Carson Palmer leaves the game the Bengals have J.T. O’Sullivan and Jordan Palmer. The second half could be a very good time to take the Bengals in this Friday prime time matchup on Fox.

The Eagles are also dealing with injuries this week which is another reason to like the Bengals in NFL preseason betting.  Cornerback Asante Samuel was hurt earlier this week and the other starting corner, Ellis Hobbs has been sick.  The Eagles could be down to Joselio Hanson, Macho Harris and Dimitri Patterson on Friday which does not bode well against Cincinnati’s receivers. The Eagles are also without offensive linemen Nick Cole and Jamaal Jackson.  The Eagles could also be without running backs LeSean McCoy and Mike Bell.  The Eagles might have to rely upon Chad Hall who hasn’t done much the past two seasons.

Prediction:  It is hard to make a case for the Eagles with all of their injuries and with Vick and Kafka as the backup quarterbacks.  The NFL preseason odds on the Bengals look very reasonable on Friday night and they should get the win.
