NFL Preseason Odds: Cowboys vs. Raiders Tips to Bet . Are you ready for some football? I realize fifteen other NFL preseason contests are already in the books, but this is Monday night! Last week’s Thursday night addition of Monday Night Football doesn’t count as far as I’m concerned. Anyway, it will be the Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders kicking it off on ESPN in the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum at 8:00ET.

The Cowboys had high hopes entering the 2011 season but had to settle for an 8-8 mark, a third place finish in the NFC East and no postseason. Tony Romo is 32 years old and while he had a great statistical showing last year, he continues to make mistakes at critical times.

Expect to see new backup QB Kyle Orton get a lot of snaps against the Raiders as he gets accustomed to a new system. Neither quarterback will have Miles Austin to throw to in this one, as he is out with an injury. Start your Football Preseason Betting action on the Dallas Cowboys at SBG Global.

Kevin Ogletree will get the chance to start with Austin out and he’ll play with one of the league’s best receivers, Dez Bryant. Other receivers that will get a look on Monday include, Andre Holmes, James Harris and possibly fifth round pick, Danny Coale if he is available. Highly regarded rookie CB Morris Claiborne is also out, along with another half dozen Cowboys.

Oakland enters 2012 after going 8-8 in 2011, finishing third in the AFC West and undergoing a front office shakeup in the offseason. One victim of the changes was Hue Jackson who was fired as head coach and replaced by Dennis Allen, formerly the defensive coordinator in Denver. It’s time for Carson Palmer to put up or shut up after going 4-6 for the Raiders who acquired him from Cincinnati during the season. The Raiders also acquired QB Matt Leinhart to back up Palmer, and look for him to play behind center, sharing time with Terrelle Pryor on Monday.

Oakland is favored by 1 point at home on a $110/$100 moneyline. The same moneyline applies to the under/over of 35 total points.
