NFL Preseason Betting and Super Bowl Odds

NFL preseason betting is a great time of the year with odds on the board not only on the preseason games but on futures for the 2009 season. One of those futures in NFL preseason odds is the very popular odds to win the Super Bowl.

NFL betting is the time to bet Super Bowl futures. Once the season begins some sportsbooks will take down the futures while others will leave them up but you never get the same value later in the year.  The favorite in NFL odds to win the Super Bowl is the New England Patriots who are 4-1.  They are really solid favorites in NFL betting considering that the second choice in Super Bowl futures is the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers at 6-1. The New York Giants, San Diego Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles are all about 8-1 in NFL preseason betting Super Bowl odds.

All of the other teams are listed at 10-1 or more in NFL betting Super Bowl odds at the online sportsbook.  The Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts are both 11-1 in NFL odds to win the Super Bowl.  The Minnesota Vikings are 13-1 but those NFL betting odds are likely to rise since Brett Favre will not be with the Vikings.  The Atlanta Falcons are 17-1 in NFL betting to win the Super Bowl.  The New Orleans Saints are also 17-1 in NFL preseason betting to win the Super Bowl.

There are few teams that are listed at 20-1 in NFL betting at the sports book to win the Super Bowl.  They are the Arizona Cardinals who made the Super Bowl last season, the Baltimore Ravens who lost in the AFC title game last year, the Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans and Washington Redskins. The Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans and Chicago Bears are 25-1 each at the sports book.

The rest of the teams are longshots in NFL preseason betting to win the Super Bowl.  Denver and the New York Jets are 40-1.  Jacksonville, Miami, San Francisco and Seattle are 45-1 each at the online sportsbook.  At 50-1 in NFL preseason betting to win the Super Bow is the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns.  Kansas City and Oakland are 60-1 while St. Louis is 75-1 and Detroit is 145-1 in NFL preseason odds to win Super Bowl XLIV.
