NFL Playoffs Betting – Arizona Cardinals (10-6) vs. Carolina Panthers (12-4)

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

NFL betting on Saturday has the Carolina Panthers heavily favored at home against the Arizona Cardinals in NFC Divisional playoff action.

The Cardinals are not getting much respect from the football betting public despite the fact they lost by only four points at Carolina earlier this season.

NFL betting odds indicate that Carolina is about a 10 point favorite to dispatch of Kurt Warner and the Cardinals.  In their meeting back in late October, the Cardinals actually led 23-17 before losing 27-23.  Kurt Warner threw for 381 yards in the loss as NFL betting stats register.  The problem for Arizona in this matchup is that they don’t stop the run very well and Carolina has a two pronged attack of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart.   Arizona was only 4-7 this season against opponents outside of their own division although they did get by Atlanta last week in the Wild Card game.

It is not all bad for Arizona though.  The Cardinals are 4-0 against the NFL betting pointspread in their last 4 games in January although they don’t play in that month very often.  The underdog in this series is 5-2 against the football betting pointspread in the last 7 meetings between the two teams and the road team is 5-2 against the NFL betting line in the last 7 meetings. The bad news for Arizona is that they are 2-7 against the NFL odds in their last 9 games as an underdog.   They are even worse as a road underdog, going 1-6 against the football betting number.

Carolina has some solid NFL betting numbers.  The Panthers are 6-1 against the NFL betting odds in their last 7 playoff games. The Panthers are 8-2-1 against the NFL odds in their last 11 home games. The Panthers are 6-2 against the NFL betting line in their last 8 games in January.

If you are interested in the NFL playoffs betting total you may want to consider taking the over.  NFL betting numbers demonstrate that the Over is 39-12 in the Cardinals last 51 games as a road underdog. The Over is 36-16 in the Cardinals last 52 games overall. The Over is 7-0 in the Panthers last 7 vs. the NFC. The Over is 7-2 in the Panthers last 9 playoff games as NFL betting stats show. The only negative football betting number has the Under at 15-7 in the Panthers last 22 games as a home favorite. .
