NFL – Patriots at Bills – Preview

With the week 2 of the 2015-16 NFL Regular season moving we preview a game that should excite the fans with the Patriots of New playing at the Bills of Buffalo on Sunday the 20th of September 2015 at 1 PM ET and played at the Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo, New York and seen on CBS TV.

The SBG Sportsbook has the Patriots a slim favorite at -1 -105 with the Over/under at 45, while the underdog Bills are +1 -115 and no ML available at this writing. The AFC East of the NFL has started the 2015 season victorious, as all 4 teams in the AFC East won their opening games. That perfect record will end with the Patriots playing the Bills in this week 2 AFC East game.

This season the Bills with new head Coach Ryan will seek to end a losing home record against the Patriots, the same as the beat the Colts and QB Luck in Buffalo in the 1st game of the season.

For the Patriots of New England fans your QB Brady overcame “Deflategate” and had a great game against the Steelers of Pittsburgh in the Pats season opener, and QB Brady completed 25 of his 32 pass attempts for some 289 yards and 4 TD’s, as New England beat the Steelers 28-21.

The Patriots offense showed their fans that even with players like Blount, LaFell and Vereen not it he lineup, the Pat still possess sufficient weapons offensively to handle opponents. QB Brady threw for 4 TD’s of which 3 were to TE R. Gronkowski who had 5 receptions for 95 yards. WR J. Edelman had some 11 receptions for 98 yards and RB D. Lewis rushed for 122 yards in the game. This same offense will have to perform at their best as the face the stout defense of the Bills of Buffalo, even as the Pats have managed moving the ball offensively against other top defenses in the past.

Last season the Pats and QB Brady in Week 6 beat the Bills as Brady completed 27 of his 37 pass attempts for 362 yards, as his teammates Edelman and Gronk had a combined 16 receptions and scored 4 TD’s. But in Week 17 QB Brady was not at his best as the Patriots lost the Bills 9 to 17.

In the past decade the Patriots have been more than dominate against the Bill as since back in the 2000 season they have managed 13 wins and 2 losses playing the Bills.

For fans of the Bills of Buffalo, in case you’re wondering how well the Bills new head Coach Ryan has improved the Bills defense as they displayed against the Colts, as the Bills blanked the Colts for the 1st half of the game, then intercepted QB Luck 2 times as Buffalo beat the Colts at home 27-14. The new look Bills defense only allowed the Colts to gains 64 total yards in the game as they average only a mere 3.7 yards per carry overall in the game.

The surprise for the fans in the Bills win over the Colts last weekend was the fact that the Bills offense played exceptionally well behind QB T. Taylor in his 1st NFL start as he passed for 1 TD, while completing 14 of his 19 attempts for some 196 yards. Also the RB’s accumulated 147 yards with star RB L. McCoy gaining 41, QB T. Taylor had 41 yards also, and rookie RB K. Williams had 6 carries for 55 yards and 1 TD.

The Bills looked at the defensive efforts of the Patriots in their game with the Steelers and the fact that the Pats allowed Pittsburgh to gain 464 yards, with 135 yards rushing. Thus, Buffalo thinks they can have another good performance in this week’s game 2 at home against New England. On defense the Bills this week will have their star DT M. Dareus back as a starter, and he can raise havoc with the Pats offensive line that will be without starting center B. Stork who is out with an injury to his neck.

The Bills Coach Ryan has a world of experience playing New England and their Coach Belichick and QB Brady, and his defensive units have always fared well against the Patriots, even as his record is 2 and 9 playing New England. When the Pats played the Jets, Coach Ryan’s previous team, they average in all games 348 yards each game and 27.4 points against the Jets defenses, and that compares to the Pats playing all other teams during that period who had 31 points per game on average, and some 403 yards average each game for the same time frame.

The prediction for this game is that the Bills play a very strong game, but the Patriots QB finds a way to beat the Bills on the road 24-21 in a very hard played game.
