There is simply no reason for New England to risk quarterback Tom Brady and the starters in a game that means nothing. It is still tough to put much faith in a Miami team that lost at home last week to Detroit. Miami went 1-7 at home this season and head coach Tony Sparano and quarterback Chad Henne are feeling the heat. Henne threw the game away late last week and the Dolphins completed a disgraceful home slate.
Who Plays?
The main question for this game is who plays for New England and for how long. Head coach Bill Belichick usually doesn’t tell the media very much but there is little doubt that Brady won’t play long if at all. Many of the other starters also probably won’t see much action. New England may still be able to win and cover with the backups though. Miami has done nothing to inspire any confidence. New England has now scored 31 points or more in their last seven games. Brady has thrown for a touchdown in all 15 games this season. New England has not committed a turnover in their last seven games and have only nine all season. The NFL record for fewest turnovers in a 16-game season is 13.

The Patriots have won six of the last ten against Miami but the Dolphins are 6-4 against the NFL odds in those games. The Patriots won 41-14 in Miami back in October.
