NFL Football – Patriots vs Cowboys

With the 2015-16 NFL Regular Season games passing by fast, we move into Week 5 with a very exciting game between the Patriots of New England 3-0 (AFC East) playing at the Cowboys of Dallas 2-2 (NFC East) with the game being played on Sunday the 11th of October 2015 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas with the kick-off scheduled for 4:25 PM ET and seen on CBS TV.

The early odds at SBG Global for those that Bet on NFL football have the Patriots of New England favored at -7 -115 with the Over/under at 49 and -330 on the Money Line while the Cowboys are the underdogs at +7 -105 and +270 on the Money Line.

To date the Patriots reigning Super Bowl Champions have looked top notch in their 1st 3 games and with a bye in Week 4 they will be seeking to go to 5-0 in the game with Dallas. On the other side of the field the Cowboys who have been struggling with injuries to key players like QB Romo and WR Bryant, and Cowboy fans would love to see an upset here at their home field.

If you’re an avid fan of the Patriots of New England have been playing very well, with their latest win was routing the Jaguars of Jacksonville in Week 3 at 51-17 then were on a bye for Week4.

Patriots QB T. Brady got a faster start this season that he had in 2014, as he got hot early and has completed some 72% of his pass attempts to date for 9 TD’s on 1,114 passing yards. To date his top receivers have been TE R. Gronkowski with 4 TD and 308 yards in receptions and WR J. Edelman is with 2 TD’s and 280 yards in receptions.

The ground running game has also had a good start this season as back-up RB D. Lewis has performed well while replacing starter RB L. Blount. RB Lewis in the 1st 2 games has some 148 yards rushing with 2 TD’s, and Blount on his return has 20 carries for 82 yards while scoring 3 TD’s.

As it appears the Patriots offense should be able to get past the Dallas defense as the Cowboys have allowed opponents to 348 yards of total offense per game. On the other side the Patriots defense actually to date has allowed more total offensive yards to the opponents at 368 yard each game. But the Patriots defense will be facing a Dallas offense without QB T. Romo and WR D. Bryant who are out with injuries, and now their running back L. Dunbar is questionable after sustaining an injury in the Cowboys loss the Saints this past Sunday night. The New England team in their last 4 road games has won four straight.

The fans of the Cowboys of Dallas are trying to determine how their team can win in Week 5 without QB Romo and WR Bryant, as back-up QB Weeden in his first 2 starts at QB has experienced 2 consecutive losses to the Falcons of Atlanta and then Sunday Night to the Saints of New Orleans. QB Weeden had no lost his 10 starts in the NFL and that is the longest losing streak for NFL QB’s to date with Weeden and Gabbert tied for that mark for QB’s that are active.

However the Cowboys management still has faith in QB Weeden who in the game with the Saints that they lost in OT 26-20 to New Orleans, and in the game he had a clutch completion for 17 yards and a TD on 4th down and only 2 minutes remaining in the game to tie the score, which was the tail end of a 91 yard drive. QB Weeden could have some success against the Patriots defense that has allowed opponents some 252 yards passing each game, but that may be somewhat difficult with the Cowboys struggling running game which normally would keep the opponents off balance. In the running game, if the Dallas RB Dunbar is out for the season with an ACL to his knee, their running game results look very dim as none of the other RB on their roster has managed more than 3 yards each carry this season.

If the Dallas defense can play as well as they did in Sundays game with the Saints as their rush on the pass resulted in 3 sacks on QB Brees of the Saints. The Dallas 2 LB’s Hitchens and Wilson both were credited with a sack and lineman on the defensive unit Lawrence and Crawford each had a sack. In the ultimate 10 games at home in the AT&T Stadium the Boys have are 3-7 against the spread.

The prediction is that the Cowboys will keep the game close as they did against the Saints, but the Patriots and QB Brady will prove to be too much for the Dallas defense and will win this game!
