The Houston Texans 4-4 have been the most prolific passing team in the NFL betting odds action over the past two years. In fact, no passing-receiving Tandem has been more productive than QB Matt Schaub and WR Andre Johnson who’ve led the NFL the past two seasons in yardage and completions.
But this season the Texans have undergone a transformation from a team high flying offense to grind it out running team. Led by the NFL’s leading rusher, RB Arian Foster (864 yards) Houston’s rushing attack ranks 6th in the NFL. Foster has gone from a 3rd-string RB to the best in the business in no time at all and averaging a gaudy 108 ypg and 5.5 ypc. He’s also got 9 TDs and has been virtually unstoppable.
The 4-4 Jacksonville Jags will have the unenviable task of trying to slow Foster down when they host the Texans in an AFC South rivalry game. Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and SBG Global opened with the Texans/Jags PK with an over/under total at 50. This game might not seem like a big deal, but it’s got huge implications within the division as the loser will be the only team in the AFC South with a losing record, occupy last place and most likely see its playoff hopes shot.
These two teams are two of the worst in the NFL gambling competition on defense ranking 29th and 30th in the league and both giving up 28.3 points per game.Neither team should have much trouble moving the ball. Jacksonville has been led by QB David Garrard, who after an INT-riddled start has quietly produced the 98.8 passer rating with 13 TDs and just 7 INTs.
But in the offense battle the Texans have the upper hand by way of their running game (136.5 ypg) and they have a significant advantage over a 22nd ranked Jags’ run defense that’s giving up 119.1 yards per game on the ground. Foster should have another big day in the Week 10 sports betting action and should carry his team to a 5-4 record and third place in the AFC South when it’s all said and done.
