September 16th, 2022 NFL Football Betting Online Odds

NFL betting has the Arizona Cardinals hosting the San Diego Chargers on Saturday night with both teams looking for their first preseason win of the year. The Cardinals lost last week in NFL football betting to the Pittsburgh Steelers while San Diego was beaten at home by Seattle.

NFL  has Arizona a 2-point favorite with a total of 37 in this game. The Cardinals should give a little more playing time to the starters this week and that means quarterback Kurt Warner should put up some good numbers. Backup quarterbacks Matt Leinart, Brian St. Pierre and Tyler Palko will follow Warner. Arizona is still look for running back Chris “Beanie” Wells to make his preseason debut but his ankle is still tender and he may not play on Saturday. Wide receiver Steve Breaston is also expected to be out on Saturday.

The Cardinals could play their starters for most of the first half so look for wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin to make an NFL impact in this game. The Cardinals have said that St. Pierre could get a chance to win the backup quarterback job this season. He did not play well in last week’s NFL game but head coach Ken Whisenhunt said it was not all his fault. St. Pierre will be the backup quarterback this week and play with some of the first string and the second string while Leinart will be #3.

San Diego starters will also get more time this week including quarterback Philip Rivers who threw the ball only eight times in last week’s NFL betting matchup. Running back LaDainian Tomlinson actually played last week and it was the first time he had been in any preseason action in years. He will play again this week according to head coach Norv Turner although it won’t be for long. “I said this past game I was just starting to get into a rhythm when I left the game,” Tomlinson said. “Hopefully I can get into that rhythm before Norv pulls me out.” NFL injury information tells us that San Diego will be without wide receiver Vincent Jackson who has a sprained finger.

Arizona and San Diego have met 17 times in preseason NFL history and the Cardinals have a slight 9-8 edge. San Diego did win at Arizona two years ago 33-31.
