NFL Betting Online – Tampa Bay at Houston on Thursday

September 22nd, 2022 NFL Football Betting Online Odds

What do you do with Thursday’s game in NFL betting online as Houston hosts Tampa Bay?. Do you take the Bucs because they need to look good in the last game or do you go with the Texans because they are at home?  The home squad is likely to get more action in NFL betting at SBG. NFL betting online numbers may favor the Texans but there are some reasons to like Tampa Bay on Thursday.  The Texans are not likely to play their starters much and Tampa may go with some of theirs a little longer.

Huge Concern if you like Houston – If you like the Texans then be aware that they are 1-6 against the NFL betting point spread in Week 4 of the preseason the last seven years.  The Texans have a very good offense but you probably won’t see much of it on Thursday night.  Matt Schaub, Andrew Johnson and running back Arian Foster may not play at all. If you bet on the Texans you are hoping that backup quarterback Dan Orlovsky will score points for you.

Backup QB for Tampa Bay – You should know that the Bucs will be without Josh Freeman but he wasn’t likely to see much time in this game anyway. Backup Josh Johnson has played well in the preseason.  He was 9 of 14 last week for 122 yards and one TD before leaving the game.

Most Houston Starters Will Sit Out – The Texans are simply not going to risk their starters in this game.  You can tell by looking at the past that head coach Gary Kubiak wants nothing to do with playing his starters in the fourth preseason game. The Texans don’t care about this game at all. They will be down to their third and fourth string running backs as Foster and Steve Slaton will not play.

Tampa Could be the Play – It is hard to ever take the Bucs.   This might be the time though.  The Bucs have a little more incentive and it will probably be the only time this season they have the better players.  Houston’s first string isn’t going to play and anyone that is important for the Texans won’t see the field for long.  The Bucs should get the win on Thursday.
